If you have 20 seconds... what would you take with you?

I've seen the movie "Leap Year" with Amy Adams, and don't worry I won't do a spoiler thing. But one thought truly entered my mind. It was there when the person asked: "Let's say there's a huge fire in your house and you only have 20seconds to grab something and leave. What would you grab? To keep the choices limited, let's just say you can only take ONE thing. So there's no saying 'my purse with all my belongings' because that would be cheating. hehe.. I don't think anyone is prepared for an emergency anyhow. In simple context, what thing is most precious to you that when you only got 20seconds to find and grab it, it will be the only thing that you will get out with alive. Think.... think... think... For me, I'd probably get my mother's heirloom necklace. It's of sentimental value and I'm pretty sure I won't ever find something like it ever, regardless how much I'd be making after the fire. How about you?

This is a tough one because there are so many things I'd want to grab. I know this probably sounds stupid, but I'd probably grab my car keys so I'd have a way to get out of there and have transportation. If you're including living things, though, I'd grab my hubby and my dog. (LOL) Don't know if those count! I think you material possessions, so we'll stick to the car keys. I know my car might not mean as much to me as other things, but I guess that goes to show that I'm a practical person and like to plan ahead. As far as things that are valuable to me, I would probably either grab my iPod Touch or my Netbook (mini laptop) because they're extremely useful to me, and my hubby got them for me, so they also have the sentimental value. Looking at the big picture, though, if something were to happen to my possessions, it would be ok as long as I have my hubby because we can move on and start a new life together somewhere different! This discussion really makes you think! Happy posting.

Oh it's good to grab the hubby first if you have one. But in this case, let's think of things. For 20seconds, you think you could grab all those? Is it usually in just one place?

Ok well in that case, we'll count the hubby as having gotten himself out already - LOL! So I would probably grab my purse and mini laptop real quick because my purse contains my phone, iPod Touch, and car keys. I would have everything I would need to start a new life from there, I suppose. It would surely be a sad situation, but at least my hubby and me would be safe! Thanks for clarifying, Laydee.

Hi Laydee, I guess it would depend on what part of the house I was in but I would look for something that belonged to my mother as her things are irreplacable and priceless to me. Esspecially her pictures as I cant ever get those back. I have nothing of my own that cant be replaced but I would really miss having her things around. Hugs, Tianna.

Hehehe.. Why didn't you just grab the diary and the phone at once? I think the diary wouldn't consume all the space in your two hands. hehehe.. Tianna: I think it would certainly be not a time to LOOK for something since you've only got seconds. What comes to your mind first?

Hmm, if I could get to it I would try to take the painting of my Mother down from the wall. Hugs, Tianna

If our house would suddenly caught fire in the middle of the night the first thing I would get is the money and other important things that is within reach. Maybe If i had a few moments to spare I will get my computer or the cpu at least I have saved something because I can't live with out my pc. But still money is the most important thing to save for me. I always make it a point to put the important things in one place or have it in a back pack so that what ever happen it's handy to bring it outside and everything is intact. It's better to be safe than be sorry later.

Hmmm.. On contrary, could you use your dad's credit card if you can't sign for him or know the pin for the matter? Why not just get the cash instead?

My Passport! I hope there's a bill inside it, but if not, its just worth it!! I should prepare a purse with important things so I can grab them in a sec if something happens! I now is cheating for your question, but its a good idea! :D

Hmmmm... Passport, are you not living in your own country? I would have not thought of that in the first place because it's relatively easy to get a passport here in my area. Why is it important?
