i'm entitled to a large recyclable bin due to the size of my family, when we moved house in november the new property only had a normal bin,so i ordered a larger one,i was told i would have it within a few weeks,it took nearly 3 months to arrive,,then yesterday while the bin men were emptying it they ripped the lid off, they didn't even come to tell me they'd done it,they just left it for me to find,i was not impressed,so i rang the council and complained about the incident and the fact that the men didn't let me know what had happened,i wasn't rude but i certainly let them know how angry i was and how disgusted that the men didn't have the common courtesy to tell me,and i demanded a new bin asap, what with the extra rubbish due to easter and the rubbish i had piling up in my kitchen,i also mentioned that if i didn't have it by friday i would make an official complaint,,i got it delivered today,,have you complained about anything recently and got a result

It is just right that you complain of something that you are not approved of. It is always best to let it be known to those people concerned. Here, sometimes, I got reprimanded for complaining. I told them that if I will not complain, then people will just think that it was just ok and some will continue to take advantage of you. There is nothing wrong with complaining. It is better to complain than carry that fire of torch inside you.

i would have complained aswell, and like you i would also not buy anything from them again,i think to run a good business you need to take care of your customers,as that's the only thing keeping the business going, without them they are nothing

It was nice to get a prompt response to a valid complaint from your residential council. This shows that they are concerned the welfare of the residents and take the recycling campaign seriously. Unfortunately for my residence the town council does not provide a dedicated recycling bin for every household. We are asked to deposit recyclable items outside our homes on the day of collection, but many times the collected items are disposed as normal waste or not being collected at all. I feel that for the recycling initiative to be effective, both the council and residents must be passionate about it and take consistent action to make it work. You have the right to be angry and ask for a new bin because the bin with the broken lid will not serve the purpose and in fact make it worse to contain the recyclable refuse.

how unprofesional of your local council,if you and your neighbours take the time to recycle then they should take the time to collect and dispose of it correctly

Actually it's happened to me several times. Since GoAskAlice has been here, seems like every time I report it, it gets fixed pretty quickly.

That was kinda nice. I can not remember a thing that I should complain to the authorities. I think I complained about my internet connection but it took a while before it was repaired and can not to much about it since it was due to a typhoon. I wish i can complain about my salary but due to economic crisis I do not know if I can.

your salary is different coz they could find a way to fire you if you cause trouble, but regarding your internet,i agree you should complain,i complained about the bad service i was getting from my telephone provider,i warned them i would cancel my contract if it wasn't sorted,it wasn't sorted so i canceled, they tried to charge me cancelation fees, but i told them they were in breach of their contract by giving me bad service and not rectifying it,they didn't come after me for the fee once i mentioned that

I also faced a situation like you. we have moved to a new house where there is insufficient street lights. Its a remote area so even though we filled a complaint the organization doesnt bother to fulfill it asap. After many days of continuos pressure give by our street people atlast they provide it. people in the respective organization should take immediate steps in these areas once any complaint is filed against them which will improve our society.

hi doormouse good for you as they had no right to just walk off and leave you with a messed up garbage bin. After making you wait for three months just to get the thing. When we lived in this one apartment complex we had a severe problem with the water leak coming into our own bath room from a pipe leaking in the bathroom of the people above us. after number pleas to the manager to get it fixed we finally went to the housing authority and within twelve hours they sent a plumber to repair the leaking pipe. unfortunately the owner got mad about this and evicted us only for having reported it to the housing authority. We could have appealed this I suppose but we chose to move to Tustin in stead. what a bummer that was.

it's a shame you had to move, but sometimes getting a problem sorted is worth the consequences.especially when you get one up on someone and proving you are right

Hi, doormouse. I don't blame you for complaining. I would have too. If the men dumped my trash bin and tore it, I would have expected them to at least replace it. But they did not.. They must have thought that you would not have noticed the tear, I guess they thought wrong. They know better than this. I am glad that you have a brand new trash bin now. Hopefully, they will learn to replace something they broke once it has been damaged. Last week sometime, I complained to my manager about my downstairs neighbor. They had their radio up sky high and the echo of the music was radiating so badly upstairs. I complained.. And I have not heard their music playing loudly, except for last night. They had it sky high again and it was after 10 p.m. This is against policies, but they did it anyway.

I know that getting a large bin is like asking for gold from the council as i had this problem a few years ago, well alot of years ago now,but i got it.I now have two large recycle bins aswell as the two large non recycle bins.A friend of mine had to wait for another bin aswell as they first told her that she was not entitled to another bin, where as i knew that she was entitled to two of each bins the same as i am.Having alot of people in the house they know that people with larger families generate alot more rubbish, but still they seem not to want to part with a bin of any size no matter what. When i had to get a second bin for my non recycle rubbish they knew i had 6 children aswell as two adults so i had to go to a health worker to get another large bin as i also had medical rubbish that could legally go in a non medical bin so they could not argue at the same time they gave me a second blue bin and that was the day after they spoke to a member of the health service.

I do not usually complain but last week I had to complain to the insurance company about getting a referral to get my daughter seen by an orthopedic pediatrician. She fractured her leg on Sunday and I was unable to get my 2 year seen until Friday because the referral took so long. But finally my baby girl has a cast so all is good!
