What's the difference of laptop and notebook? What do you prefer most and why? I'm planning to buy one but I have no idea what is the best to use. I'm going to use it for my programming study. I dont want to use mac because it's so new to me and I know it will be hard for me to browse it. What can you suggest? And what is the best brand for you? What brand do you like most? I also prefer cheaper laptop ranging price from 28k-35k. Hope you can help me decide. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi belle! Laptop is more powerful and way far better configurations than netbook. Netbook usually have a low graphic card so if you are going to do some designing and animations, laptop is better for you. Notebook is just more on browsing the internet and for office applications. the advantage of notebook is it's cheaper and more compact, smaller and lighter. I suggest you to buy a laptop with a core2duo processor with 2-4GB RAM and with a big hard disk capacity. Also choose a laptop which is upgradeable for future use. Hope it helps. Have a nice day! Happy myLotting!

If your budget permits, Sony Vaio, Lenovo and Toshiba are always a good choice. But in a low-end brands, I prefer HP. But if you really want Acer or ASUS, they're ok too. Just look for the ones which possessed right specifications for your need.

Hello! I suggest to buy a laptop instead of netbook for programming use coz what I understand about the two item is that, Laptop has many functionalities and can carry more accessories than notebook. See http://www.cylinked.byethost11.com

I am sorry to say this because you just said that you don't want to use a Mac, but you should. It is just so fast to learn, trust me. You will feel like home after max 1 week, I guarantee you that. The only difficulty in Macs is to accept that they are better than PCs and expecially in programming, editing and stuff like that A notebook is a laptop btw...

A laptop is a notebook as far as computers go. Netbooks however are different. Is that what you were thinking? As for laptops, I love my Acers. By 28k do you mean dollars? You can't possibly. But what USD are you willing to spent.

Actually, notebook or laptop, they are both the same, except for the terms we used to describe it.. hehe ^_^ Mac is supposed to be good, and definitely better than windows, as it does not crash.. haha =D However, there are certain softwares that does not work with mac etc, and thus making it not as popular.. hehe ^_^ Try asus, it's quite a nice brand, and small in size too.. hehe

Notebook is small and thin which can been taken easy, and laptop have good performance. So, I think you can choose it according to your require. If you often take it with you? If you want to use it in coffee bar? If you always to surf on internet only but not play games? You can ask yourselves and get the answer.

i prefer to buy a netbook because it is more convenient to carry than a laptop. But they said that laptop still is the best and its price is more expensive than netbook though it is much smaller.

I think the terms notebook and laptop mean the same thing. Since you intend to use your laptop for your programming study, I would suggest a medium range laptop, as you may need to install those hefty, feature-rich programming IDEs, like Microsoft Visual Studio suite. Nowadays, laptops come cheap, and a medium range laptop should be affordable. As for brands, I wouldn't want to recommend any particular brand. You probably can do your own research using the Internet.

Hi angelbelle! Laptops include netbooks, notebooks Netbooks used only mainly for browsing, light activity. They are low power consuming, small, light weight. Notebooks can be used for all stuff. They are heavier, more expensive, powerfull. With the range you specified Acer Aspire AS5740G-6979 looks OK. If its expensive tell me which brands r common in ur area. Great pic by the way! Keep posting.

Both are both part of Laptop. The difference is from the hardware parts inside, and usually a Netbook has smaller screen than a notebook. If you have a lot activities, I mean not just for a simple activities such as browsing, typing, and listen to the musics, a Netbook will be the option. But if you are someone who have a heavy activities like make a design, programming, composing music or movie etc, a Notebook is the right choice. For Netbook I suggest Acer, they offer many cheaper product with good quality inside. For Notebook, HP or Toshiba is the the good choice I think, because it has a good prices and also good quality.
