Do you agree with me? Advice for my brother.

Tomorrow, my brother wants to take an 11 mile (each way, so 22 miles) bike ride to a fund raiser at a school of some friends. He hasn't ridden a bike in about 6 months. I think this isn't smart, and down right dangerous. Anyone willing to back me up on this?

Yeah this might not be the smartest thing in the world for your brother to do. I wonder how far he gets before he comes to the same conclusion as you have come to?

I'm HOPING he only gets to the front door at most. He had to buy a bike chain for this... so he feels like he is invested in it. But I think he is having second thoughts :) heres hoping. Thanks you for backing me up :P

What are you afraid of? That he can't make it and loss his breath on the way? How many miles does he usual do for those six months or more? I think you have reasons to be afraid not to. For some reason he will have some muscle pains after the trip. I think it would not be wise for Him to do that.

Heh, very few, probably 2-4 miles in a go. And they were usually at least a week apart. Well, our city isn't the safest (a fair sized city in southern MI) there are three (known) gangs that operate in our city, and there is a chance his return trip would overlap with nightfall. Not cool

Depends on his age.Young people are capable of doing some amazing things.Have the car standing by for a ride if he doesn't make it. Let him know you have a ride standing by.He will know if he needs to quit.
