here in the uk and most of northern europe are encountering the ash and dust from the icelandic volcano eruption. The pictures on tv are awesome, how cool are volcano's he he he we were supposed to of got the ash and dust trail today 16th april 2010 but the weather is beautiful not a cloud in the sky or dust for that matter. Have you been affected other than no flights here in uk and how cool are volcano's.

This is amazing! Can you imagine the sense of isolation that I feel over here on the other side of the Alps with no flights from here to UK? I am watching the map which shows the direction that the cloud of ash should be taking but who knows where it will end up^ I went through the BBC site and found some fantastic videos, especially this one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8625175.stm?ls which shows what is happening right there in Iceland - adn what more can we expect I wonder? There are photos of animals in fields where the grass is covered with debris too

I don't understand them at all but, and please excuse me if this is a dumb question surely earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are related? If gas is released from the centre of the Earth then surely the crust collapses to fill up the gap?

hi benny well the idea of spreading ash in the air sounds weird and exciting at the same time but god knows what would happen next I knew that just yesterday night in BBC website by chance then I went to check the telly news and told my father about it like I know every thing hahhaha !! I hope every thing goes well there !!

its not just ash there is glass in there and stone, thats why planes have been grounded as the glass fragments are actually so hot that if they get sucked into a jet engine they actually start to form a glass coverage and foul the engines. Its all very exciting but am a bit of an arm chair storm chaser and stuff like this is pretty darn cool
