My mom used to tell me shes afraid of the elevators because we might get trapped inside for hours. Things like power interruption or other sorts may happen that might result to the said event. A month ago i was using this elevator in going to word then all of a suddent it stopped.I was there for around 2 hours then i remembered what my mom told me, i didnt paniced and all but im worried somehow. I looked at my cephone but it had no signal in it , so i have no choice but to wait until its operation again. What bout you what are you going to do if your trapped alone in an elevator?

I've never experienced trapped in an elevator, but if I'm stuck in the elevator I'll try not to panic and stay calm. I will wait until the elevator can be operated again. I will sit and remain calm, so I did not panic and shortness of breath. because I often feel shortness of breath, if it is covered with small subjects.

yes, I really wish I had never experienced. I can not imagine, if I am experiencing. if I had stuck in the elevator, maybe I would have chosen to use the stairs.

I believe if its going to be a girl its going to be so traumatic for you to feel that kind of fear of being alone and completely dark.Even if you want to calm down it wont be that easy at all, and come to imagine 2 hours of being trapped too its so scary.Thank God i survived that horrible experience

I hope if I stuck in elevator I will not alone, I tend to get panic if I alone. At least if I got company I will have someone to talk to and share our problem even in panic situation. Well I trapped alone I have to make myself busy until the help come, I can play game in cellphone until my cell run out of power. If I had nothing more to do I think I will pray to get my common sense and hope back.

Yeah it doesnt matter if you dont have your phones with you or if its dark for as long as you have someone to share the experience with like to talk to just to kill time. Who knows this person will be your instant bestfriend because of that lol .No kidding how i wish i have someone with me that time too, im kinda scared but i dont know what to do to, all i did is wait and wait until after 2 hours i was able to get out at last. Thanks for commenting and have a great day

And thats what i just did since i dont have a celphone signal i just waited and waited until its fine and operational again . It took me at least 2 hours just to wait for the darn electricity to come back again. And thats the first time that i ever encountered something like that, it just reminded me of my mom telling me this story that she hates elevators because shes afraid she will be stuck in for hours lol

hey setsuna26! I would use the elevator alarm if it's available or working and I'll also try to use my phone if it can gather some signal. Otherwise, I'll just wait patiently and pray for my safety while inside the elevator. I won't do something heroic inside the elevator especially when I'm with someone, it might just make the situation even worse.

I think your right, i mean the only thing i forgot to do that time is to pray i mean im so into not panicking and i keep myself busy by trying to remember happy things that happened to me so that i wont be that scared at all. Yeah its a lil bit frightening but its either i fight it or i will be freaking out like a fool with no one to help me out that time lol

Whenever it's a normal day or something crazy like this, I pray. I just believe that praying gives you strength and peace of mind most especially from unwanted situations like this. I haven't really experienced this yet but just to share, I did encounter that the elevator we're into ALMOST FELL! Like when the door opened, we have to climb up a little bit just to get out. It felt like a cable of the elevator snapped or something! Have a good one.

Exactly nobody wants to experience the kind that i just experienced, its horryfying scary too. I mean its fine if you have someone to talk to and just spend time until its operational again but if your all alone and you wont be able to use your phone at all then its really scary already. Good thing i was able to keep my cool and was able to wait until it moved again. But its suffering 2 long hours of waiting ...

My grandmother is also afraid of elevators, and she always chooses the stairs even if she has to get to the 8th or the 9th floor. I don't mind using an elevator when I am with a group of other people, but I don't like to use them when I am alone in case I get stuck inside the elevator. If I am with a group of people we can at least talk and keep eachother company while we are waiting to get out of the elevator. If I did get stuck in an elevator alone, I would probably be very worried and I might panic because the thought of staying there for several hours scares me.

Yea its pretty freaky indeed, in my case i just try to calm myself saying something like ok it will be over pretty soon and then try to remember lots of funny things that happened with me and my friends sometime ago.Instead of worrying too much thats where i put my attention instead. Then waited until i was able to get out of that stupid elevator but it still took me 2 hours just to get out

As far as I am concerned, I think when I was trapped in an elevator for several hours, I think I will try my best to make myself calm down, in order to make myself save a lot of energy. I think i need energy to support myself alive. If I just try my best to call others for help , maybe that time there is nobody outside. I think with the time goes by, the workers there will come as soon as possible to repair the elevator.

Yeah i think nobody wants to be in that kind of situation at all, including me lol .It almost made me freaked out like for 2 hours you get stuck like that without any celphone signal and nobody to talk to and all you can see is total darkness and well if you open up your celphone you can see some light and thats just about it already.Hope nobody else will be feeling that way again ever haha

The thought of being stuck on an elevator alone with nothing to do and no cellphone signal would put a big damper on my day. Also, it would suck if I were ever stuck on a elevator alone for a long while because it would cause me to feel claustriphobic in that small place. Though if I were stuck in an elevator I would press that alarm button and just relax me and my mind as much as I could.-Rezz

I think thats what we should be doing ,just push the emergency button and wait for help to come. Now if ever no one comes to aid at that time then all we have to do is wait until the power comes back again then everything will be fine. In my case i waited for 2 hours until i was able to go out again. Its more like being detained for questioning in a police station lol

My mom NEVER goes on an elevator, because she got traumatized. I guess she was trapped alone in an elevator when she was young, so yea. And, this is the reason why I don't like going on elevators alone. Lol. I easily get scared, especially if it's dark. So, I guess what I'll just do if I get trapped is cry (haha), and call my partner (if there's signal). If I don't have signal, I'll prolly just sit there and play some games on my phone, or keep on pressing the emergency button. Haha!

Now try to imagine if you will be the one trapped in one sometime, i bet even if your a guy or a girl you will be kinda freaked out with that kind of experience. And i never want to experience that kind of incident again. Makes me want to freak out all the time. Imagine its pitch dark then no celphone signal what more can you ask for lol

I think the worse scenario is if you didn't have any gadget with you or if your cellphone got an empty battery. Lol. I wouldn't know what would happen to me if that scenario happened. :| Hahaha

Of course you can't avoid worrying at this kind of event, but getting yourself calm is the most advisable thing that you can do. Just trust to those maintenance or operators and wait until the elevator operates again.

Yup trying to keep your calm is the very first thing that everybody else should be doing in this kind of event. I mean just like i did i just patiently waited until everytime is fine again. Pretty spooky but hey that happens and its just that im in the wrong place lol .And if you panic then its just going to worsen the situation. Thanks for sharing your idea and have a great day ahead of you hope to see more of your thoughts and ideas pretty soon

Yeah thats a good thing to do like just to sit and wait, but to fall asleep in a dark square room with nobody to rescue you at that time? i dont think you will be able to sleep at all. Not to mention there are alot of rumors going on in that building that theres a ghost kid playing in each floor and from time to time rides the elevator too, although i never saw a ghost yet just the mere story sometimes freaks me out lol

Hi Setsuna, Well, panic obviously wouldn't do anything to help the situation. if that ever happened to me then I would hope that I would by chance have a good book with my. I usually carry one in my bag so odds are I would have one. If there were others trapped in there with me then I would strike up a conversation with them. If I were by myself and no book, I'd probably just take a little nap and hope that when I woke up they would have the elevator fixed.

Well, I really don't know. I do know that panic would not be a good thing so I would really at least try to remain calm as possible. Not real sure how I would be to be perfectly honest.

In normal circumstances yes what you just mentioned will be applicable too,but if you were in my position that time its pitch black, your phone has no signal even if you have a book you wont able to read it because its all dark inside. You think you will be able to sleep in that condition? i mean its pretty hard to sleep if thats the case. Anyways if your really brave and all i believe you really might sleep at that time

And if all else fails? you will just sit down and wait, on my case i tried those stuff too but i dont have a signal with my celphone then pushed the emergency button but no one came to my aid and other stuff i had to wait 2 hours just to get out of that creepy elevator which almost drove me mad lol

I dont think now a days there is less probability to be trapped in elevators. I think modern elevators has Intercom or wireless to inform the security if your trapped also has alarm to blow.

In well developed countries its really very rare to happen but i live in a 3rd world country and buildings in some places in our country can be really how can i say this, outdated thats why some are almost broken or sometimes too old already. But anyhow sometimes things like these happen even with rich countries some incidents happen whether man made or the other way around. I just wish none of you my friends will experience the same thing as i did sometime ago because its pretty scary

17 Apr 10
Well, I hope it wouldn't happen to me. But if it did, my first action would be call for help. I'll sound the alarm button or any button that is intended for emergencies. If I have a signal on my cellphone, I'll call for help. And when I'm waiting for the rescue to come, I'll sit around maybe read a book or listen to my ipod to calm my nerves. If I have someone with me, the better. I'll chat with them to kill the hours of waiting. And of course, I'll never forget to pray. Even if it's only a minor emergency, a whisper of help to our Lord makes the situation more lighter.

Yeah i will be doing the same thing if i have those options with me lol . When it happened to me im just alone and my celphone had no signal no one to reach me even if i pushed the alarm button already, and worst of all its pitch dark inside. Thats actually midnight when that happened . Can you just imagine if you will be the one locked like that hahaha

Oh that's terrible! I'm kinda afraid of the dark, the only option I would do is Pray and scream for help and maybe pound the elevator door. Scary. I hope you won't go through that again.

Yeah even if im a guy already, i kinda panicked at start but then again i told myself if i will be wasting my energy i might not able to make it at all . So i just waited and calmed myself until the power got back and the elevator moved again

Yeah as much as possible try to think of the positive stuff instead of those negative vibes that are coming in .Its more like your already in a bad situation so all you need to do is focus more on the good stuff instead.Until help arrives or until the freaking elevator is working again. Thanks for the comment and enjoy your day!
