The Facebook is an addiction for only the first 6 months, then you get bored!

for the initial period, the first thing you do on reaching office is to sign in facebook, but then over the time, you start losing interest.

Hi MIrfanBajwa! Yeah your definitely true about that! I am very addicted on facebook at the first 3 months. But as the time goes by, i lose my interest with that especially the time when i met the online businesses. I start removing my attention on facebook and putting it all to online businesses. Where i can earn money rather than wasting my time on facebook. Sometimes, i am just staring on my facebook account nothing to do with it. Im so bored exploring the photos of my friends. Fan pages are not that good. Most of the fan pages are for stupid persons only. Some was very weird. Some with malicious and por* content that i don't want to view.

Thanks everyone, one more thing i would like to share is that the only positive thing i see in this portal now is that you get updates about friends and family the easy way. other than that, i dont think there is more attraction for me anymore.

I am on the same boat as you. I am so happy to get over with my addiction with facebook. I might say that it's my personal choice now to be addicted to sites that offer cash in return of my activity. Have a nice day! ^_^

I agree to you, I only register at facebook because of farmville but when I made lots of money in farmville (40million) and I can by anything and reach the top level fast Im started to get bored, now I only use facebook to get more referrals

I use Facebook to keep in touch with all my friends, so I never get bored with it. I did get into playing some of the games, Mafia Wars for example, but I did get bored with the games after a while.

Hi MIrfan, Same here, I'm not very active there as some friends I know who are always there day in and day out. I don't play any of the games there coz, well, I'm just not interested. But I do visit FB from time to time to check my friends' profiles.

Hello, I completely agree. This is true to almost all social networking site except myLot. I mean those sites have very little that can be called dynamic and creative. Human nature is inclined to variety and change. Static things do not attract human attention for long. No matter how much we deny, we need suspense and disturbance in our lives to be ALIVE. These sites lack this element. There is very little to innovate, less scope to create something of your own. But in myLot you get chance to show your creativity and expertise. This is wonderful and this is how myLot goes beyond the definition of so called social networking. Thanks God bless you

I also felt this way about facebook. Maybe because the first times, you tried to check everything because it's very new to you, but in the long run you get tired of it. I can say that I only open my facebook to check my notifications or if there are any new friend requests or tagged photos. After that I logout immediately. :)

I think the newest of it wears off but I LOVE facebook. I moved 1300 miles away from all of my family and most of my friends and this is the best and easiest way to check in touch with them. Also its the easiest way to keep them updated on my sons.

I have been on Facebook since the first months since it was launched. Over time I loved the improvements and started loving the games and applications, but yes, after a while, it gets boring. There are a lot of fun apps but then having too much of that would really bore you somewhere in time.

hey mirfan i think not..i just love facebook and i'm on it like 24/7..mylot is catching up quick on my list as well..i just love the comments n statuses that my friends put up. gives me a chance to know what's happening with them. funny thing is when i'm in office and i don't know what's going on outside, i get all the information on facebook. like say its raining outside, someone's status would say so and that's how i know it's actually raining outside. helps to keep boredom at bay at work. also i'm hooked onto all those silly games on facebook like farmville, cafe world, bejewelled blitz, word challenge..i could go on and on.. probably you don't have alot of friends on facebook or maybe you don't play games on it. i like taking those fun quizzes too.

Yeah I have similar time frame like yours. I have started there and about 8 months I feel that there is no more excitement when I am accessing the site anymore. I tried gaming that is why my addiction to it came to the max but after knowing hwo games are played in there I started losing interest in getting there. For now I just go there to see what is going one with my friends and family but I less and less have the time and interest in playing the games moreso updating myself in there.

I don't think it's that quick to get bored with facebook. Come on friend, give the creator and the workers in Facebook some chance. I don't think they'd appreciate it if you got bored with it after 6 months already! Hehehe.. I think it depends on the people. If the person is idle, then Facebook gives him/her something to do to pass the time. But, if the person is really busy, then Facebook isn't something they'd give time to because it's obviously created to let you spend more time there. On the other hand, for the games and all the tactics, it still depends on the capacity of the person to actually get the point that these games will be unending and regardless what you do, it'll be something you'll want to be better with because you're actually playing for the spot above the rest (which is like society in the real sense). But, if you soon realize what's it all about, you realize that any effort made won't make the position last, soon you'll realize that it's not worth it at all - then you get bored with Facebook. That was what happened to me. I played those games, Mafia Wars, My Cafe, FarmTown, every game there is. I got hooked. Sooner or later I noticed I became addicted and would spend all my available free time on the Facebook. Then, suddenly, I snapped realizing that it's an endless loop and spending time there wouldn't make me richer - so, I shifted back to mylot. At least in myot, you could really earn real money, not recognition (as perceived by the people in Facebook). So, there you go. It doesn't last 6months before you get bored. It depends on the people or the person. But I assure you, Facebook is doing it's best to keep it rolling. Just like a Fad wanting to be a Fashion.
