why do people sway their hands when walking?

yes including me...but im just curious if can somebody walk without swaying their hands..:)

Some people do it when their happy its more like an expression, they just want other people to know that they feel happy. But for some others its just normal for people to sometimes sway their hands while walking.Its more like the natural movement of our body when we move forward with our feet then our hand will somehow follow its more like a rhythm of the body

Hello princess, we all do sway our hands. It is for our balance while walking other than that is it good gait to look at. I do think only people who don't have arms, could walk without swaying their hands... cheers. Happy mylotting.

well I gathered its is a way the body compensates to balance while walking. Its an involuntary motion the body momentum and weight displaces to maintain balance
