Has anyone ever sung for you or have you ever sung for someone?

I like to sing karaoke even though I'm terrible at it. My mom even tells people that I'm not ready when there's a family get together. Lately I've been singing Karaoke with my ex from time to time on Youtube. Today, however was different, as a friend friend from Mylot sang for me. I feel so special. =) Has anyone had this privilege where they sang for someone or someone sang for them??

I sing all the time for all the people. I get asked questions like, Who sings that? I used to answer the artists name, then people would say, Good let them sing it. Or, Chysom, Have I ever told you, you have a lovely voice, and I would answer no, and they would say GOOD. I like the inspirational quote, dance like no one is watching, sing like no one is listening, and love like you have never been hurt. So, I torture people and pretend they do not listen. It works for me, most people that are close to me are more then used to it, and completely ignore me, at least when they don't already have a headache. I make up improv songs for the people at my work, and my friends, and just because all the time. With Appreciation

Wow, you must be really talented. When was the last time you sang for someone you like? Eddy and I are talking on yahoo while I was singing karaoke with my cousin and he said he want to hear my voice. So I called him up on his pc and sang for him. too bad, the song he requested was not available. Take care cj.

I only know a few songs and titles by heart. I recognize a lot on the Radio though. I do sing for myself, it helps me to relax a little bit. Unabashed, because of the criticism, not despite of it I am sure. I sing louder when they whine, this thing about being annoying I enjoy...... I am always singing in my head, and like I mentioned I often just make it up as I go along..like my I have to go pee song...Urination feels so good to me, Urination what a relief to pee. Every time, I recognize a discussion that merits some words of wisdom I have came across I will be extra sure to share it. Eddy is a lucky guy I am thinking, to have heard such a lovely girl sing for him. I used to do karaoke quite often. What song did he request? With Appreciation.

I must not have been paying proper attention, it was quite late and I had a long day, he mentioned that in his post. Thanks for the clarification, you can sing me leaving on a jet plane one day, that song is one of my favorites. Glad you liked my pee song. With Appreciation.

This opens up a special place in my heart. It was about a year ago. We had a terrible fight to the point of giving up with my partner. I was so angry, but I no longer remember what it was about. He asked me for the last favor of me answering his call (he was in another city then), when I answered his call, he sang our song. It was corny, I know, but his last way of asking for another chance that time was to sing, to remind me that he chose that song for us. The song that made me laugh because it was so old and I never thought he would dare sing it! A great feeling indeed to be sung by someone, most especially if that someone is the one you love and the one who loves you.

The song is "Can't Smile Without You" by Barry Manilow. This was before the movie Hellboy used it as a soundtrack. I was actually not in favor of it a few years back when he told me he wanted that song to be our song because he says that he can't really smile if I'm not smiling (which was why it made my heart melt). He never sung that song prior to the fight ever, which was why him singing the song was way way out of my imagination. Hehe.. Yeah, I am happy and I hope he is too. But we are also both sad because he's now working in another country. But oh well, it's for the future - as he says.

That was a great story. If I might ask, what song was it? It looks like the power of song can even soothe an angry soul. =) Has he ever sang that song before? That is pretty gutsy to sing something that the two of you share. You guys should try and sing it together. I hope you two are are very happy. =)

My ex used to come in to where I work with his guitar and sing for me. It was pretty cool. Actually that was in part why I started dating him. Beyond my father and my kids, no one other than him has sang to me personally.

I am actually pretty shy so no, I did not return the favor and Yes, I was kind of embarrassed but it did grab my attention for sure. He was in a band and had a very good voice and also played guitar real well. I love music so I have to say his pick-up technique was effective.

Shoot, maybe I should try that move. First I need to obtain a guitar and learn how to play it. It seems to be a real lady-killer. You should just sing for him once in a while just for fun, I think he'll greatly appreciate it. But to each his/her own. I wouldn't want you to look bad. ;)

Wowww. You must have felt really special for him doing. Were you embarrassed? Did you return the favor to your ex when you two were still dating? I always feel like that if someone sings for you, you should sing for them. That is, if your voice is bearable. =)

Yes, actually I have had 2 guys sing TO me before. 1 was a malaysian fellow, when I was young, he played the guitar and used to sing to me, when we were dating. This was a very long time ago, when I was around 17 yrs old. And another fellow used to sing the song from Randy Travis, about being faithful, "Forever and Ever, Amen". It was very moving and very sweet. I guess it produced the desired result he intended.

You are lucky that two people sang for you. I also have had two people sing for me, aside from my family. What was the end result? Are you two still together to this day? I hope you sing for people too. =)

Well to honest I am a bad singer, so I will never sing for someone if they not force to sing. If they make me sing its will be out of tune. I have a friend who really good singer and he usually sing in my birthday, sing the song that dedicated for me. If I person I love sing for me I can not stop myself to be blushing, I glad and shy in the same time but its make you feel special.

It can be embarrassing if someone sings for you, especially in front of a crowd. I can imagine it would be especially embarrassing for a girl but I think most girls will think it's sweet when a guy sings for them. I am always out of tune too so don't feel bad. We can be out of tune together!! =)

Did he sing well? I'm sure that if he did not sing well he might not have been your boyfriend. I knew it the guitar and the singing will melt any girl's heart away, no matter how tough their exterior is. One time I had a girl sing to me over the phone(not sophia) and it was horrendous. I'm glad she stopped soon after she started. I wish I could sing right now but my voice is heavily diluted and scratchy due to a terrible cough.

It is pretty embarrassing. There was this guy who serenaded me here in our house. he was with his friends and he was singing while playing guitar. It's very flattering and embarrassing at the same time. After a few months, he became my boyfriend. :)

i know i can't sing but my partner likes to listen to me singing. i guess that goes to show us that love isn't just blind, it's also deaf! i really love being sung to. sometimes when i can't sleep at night, i ask my partner to sing me some lullabies. best way ever to drift off to dreamland, in my opinion. :o)

That's cute that your partner still admires your voice. Either they're really nice or maybe you have a hidden talent that you yourself can't even see or hear. I like your deaf quote, that was cute. I used to sing to my ex but now I'm too lazy and especially now I can't do it because my voice is raspy from a bad cough. I like your oink face. I used to use that, just to be random. ;0)

I've sang in front of an audience for a couple of times. I like going to karaokes with friends, and most of the time it's me holding the microphone. Hahaha! There were two occasions that stood out though: there was a time when my school org had a sort of competition and I was the representative for my group and I sang in front of them (won Ms. Talent, too!). The other time was when I visited a comedy bar, the gay host had me and my friend sing in front. Good thing there were only a few people. They thanked us after that. My husband sings songs to me all the time. Most of the time from out of the blue. I find it sweet.

Wow I probably would have gotten stage fright. I have danced and gave speeches in front of an audience but I'm not talented enough to sing in front of people. That's cool that you did that. Do you and your husband sing together? You should just buy a magic mic, for it will save you a lot of money. Good job on beating out the competition for the talent show. =)

My children won't let me sing. I sang in Glee in Jr. High School, but not really since. I have a marginal voice, not awful, but not good either. I have some friends who sing on singsnap who have sent me things. Some of them were really nice...

It's a website where you can sing along with popular songs. Several people I know on here do that. The children are 13 and 9 (2 9 year olds)...

Oh, what is singsnap? I've never heard of it. That's funny how your children won't let you sing. How old are they? My parents are okay at singing. As long as you sing from the heart; that's the most important thing.

That is very cute. Maybe you should try and help teach him how to sing. Do you sing for your husband too? I hope that one day your husband can perfect the song that he dedicated to you. =)

Hey setsuna. I have missed you. Sorry I have not been responding to a lot of your posts. I am not as talented as you are, in responding to everyone's posts. That's cool that you sang at a wedding when you were dared to do so and that you gave it your all. I hope you get drunk and continue singing your butt off! I only like singing karaoke when I'm drunk, because it soothes my parched throat. Also my drunk singing sounds better to myself. =)

That's cool that your best fiend sings for you. Why is it that you never sing for your best friend though? Best friends do everything together, so you should sing for her too. I would like my best friend to sing for me but maybe people will think I'm bakla, because my best friends are guys. I like singing only with a Magic Mic in the comforts of my own home, so only my friends and family can hear me. =)

I also sing for her sometimes, she said to me i have a voice, But for me its bad, If i sing It is always comes from my heart hehehehe. I also dont like to sing in videoke outside... it should be in my house to have privacy, Friends are always meant to have fun together no matter they are all guys no one will think about bakla thing, If ever they will think that way they are are just jelous, their eyes are very green. So never mind ask ur bestfriend to sing for you go go go,

Aww that would be sweet if the person who would sing for you is someone you have feelings. Otherwise, it would just feel nothing. I've already experienced such but I wasn't moved. Anyways, I've already sung for someone. My mother. woot

That is cute that you sang for your mother. I'm sure she greatly appreciated it. That sucks how the person who sang for you wasn't the person you were interested in. I hope that he at least sang well. =) I hope that one day someone that you're intersted in sings for you. =)

I agree that it is special when someone sings for you. It can also be nice to sing for others. In this world one cannot always give and give or take and take. There must be a balance of giving and taking. I hope that someone sings for you soon, so you can relax and just appreciate the music. Good luck with your youtube postings, at church, and for those you love!! =)

I sing cause I like to sing and my voice is also not that good. My husband likes me to sing songs for him, I also sing songs for my nephews. I dont sing when my dad is around cause my dad is good in singing and when he hears me sing, he always laugh and tell me I sound like someone is trying to hurt me. lol
• United States
22 Apr 10
You must sing really high if you sound like someone is trying to hurt you. Does your husband also sing for you? You guys should do duets if you don't do duets already. I'm like one of the worst singers in my family. My problem is that I can't hear the beat a lot of the time, which affects my singing performance. Also sometimes I'm either flat or high; I always seem to get the pitch wrong. Well good luck to you. Maybe we'll show everyone our singing abilities one day. =) If not there's always dance ;)

It's cool that you sang with your partner when you guys were just dating. It's even cooler that you reminisce the good old days and sing to each other. That's cute. One doesn't have to have a beautiful voice to sing. As long as people appreciate your voice then that's all that counts. Keep on singing. =)
