Dreams are the things you want to do or wanting to happen to your life while goals are dreams with specific actions to be implemented. A dream is like this: "I will have my own house someday." A goal is: "I will have my own house situated in a strategic location. And this I will have within 5 years which will start today, etc etc.... I guess you get the picture. :)

this is in my opinion the best description I read so far... well done visijay for the clear example and all. goals are actually dreams plus actions. we are humans and as humans aught to dream, for it keeps us alive... and for our dreams to come true we have to act upon them, plan strategic steps on how to implement them and make them come true for us... a plan of action based on a dream! that is how all big things started. once one believes dreams are reachable and can be made real, then that is the first step towards realising and building one's goals!! good luck to all

The difference between dreams and goals are the following. When you say dreams it is just dreams and unlikely to be near in reality, but when you say goal, your doing your best here, to achieved your goal like being patience, and great sacrifices involve here. Speaking of goal, You also need to set a date by which you wish to achieve each goal. This is an essential step - a message to the subconscious mind telling it what it needs to work on and when it needs to happen. When you dream only hope and wish are presence. The Dream - to live in a beautiful house in the country with a big garden and a stream. Dreams tend to be unfocused and non-specific. To turn a dream into a goal, clients need to decide on two things - how much, and by when!

I think dreams are in the thought form and goals are in the action form.

I think dreams help you define your goals, and goals help you achieve your dreams! For example, if I dream that one day I will live in a house on the waterfront with a boat and write novels then my goals will be my baby steps to help me get there. Such as I will get rid of my debt & start saving money towards my house & boat, I will take on an extra job to help me do that, I will sit down and write for a couple hours every day, I will take a course on writing or attend a workshop. If I dream of being skinny and laying on the beach in a bikini, then my goals would be losing weight, eating healthy, drinking more water, getting exercise, etc. You get the idea!! I think dreams & goals are intertwined and inseparable! And I believe that it is possible to achieve any dream if you make goals & work at it!

Well, dreams and goals are co-related with each other. The difference is that dreams are having goals while you are asleep and waiting for it to happen. Whereas goals are dreams while you are awake and working for it to happen.

I think dreams are just fanciful thinking and goals are, or atleast should be, achievable and within your grasp. That's how I would define the two.
