I just read this and it really made my heart melt. You should go ahead and read it. It's something that could enlighten everyone here. :) Read it here: http://www.angladlad.com/?page_id=27 READ IT, PLEASE. Lol, if you want to, then you could just skip to the actual letter part. Just scroll down. It's really worth reading, so I hope you take the time to read it. I especially loved this part: "..but now I am nothing but grateful and glad that this is what God made me. S/He made me uniquely who I am for a reason and I know that my only misson in life is to be that person - the person that S/He has made me and that which S/He wants me to become." Also this: "But know that half that hurt was not because of me, it was because of a society that condemns and refuses to understand. It doesn't have to be like that. I still maintain that I am not doing anything wrong. Being who I am and loving who I choose isn't wrong. And this is the basic freedom that I am fighting for. That people do not get kicked out of school or get fired from their just because they are who they are... Some fathers even have their tomboy (butch) daughters raped to 'cure' them. This is what I am fighting against." What do you think about it? Mind sharing your thoughts and opinion?

I am admire the girl because she is so brave to confess that she is lesbian, which is still not quiet common acceptable in society even now.

Yes, she wasn't afraid even though a lot of people may condemn and judge her. It's really nice that she stood up for herself and believed that nothing was wrong with being a lesbian.

Yes, I really admire her. Writing that letter must have taken a lot of courage. I also admire her for her determination and for maintaining her stand that she's not doing anything wrong.

I really applaud the writer of this letter for her courage, and I'm glad that she still has a positive relationship with her mother after coming out. It's so unfortunate that because of society's condemnation of gays and lesbians, they often also lose the support and love of their own families. Imagine if we all had to go through a similar ordeal when our parents found out we were straight!

She's so lucky that her mother learned to accept her. And yes, you know you're really right! The society's views affect families, and it's really sad to know that those who should be the first ones to accept you are the first ones to condemn you. And that's also exactly what straight people need to realize. :/
