Do you drink alcohol when you are stressed?

Many people think that drinking alcohol is the solution to their problem. I tried it too but got myself more in problem. I was sick and weak. So i was not in a state to work the next day. From that experience I have vowed not to touch alcohol anymore. If you have a problem tackle it courageously. Time will heal the wound...

Hmmm, I left out the part that it might relax you (I guess it does that so some people!)... but still it should be done with great care, to the limit, your limit.

it depends on the quantity you take :D anyway, when i'm somewhat nervous or worried i take a cup with something - it usually has a relaxing effect on me like i did before my very first report on a conference :) but never more than that and of course i don't drinking is a solution when things are really tough right then you rather need to get focused

I think it will only make it worst... I like drinking, with friends, maybe sometimes at home. Different kind of drinks as well. But I don't do it often alone, only when I feel like it. So I really don't see the point in drinking when I am sad, stressed or having a problem. I deal with it in different ways (not successful). Someone that really does that, has to explain to me the reason and rational that goes into his head. Maybe I am missing something here. I'd be glad to understand that more. Sure I've gotten drunk when I wanted to get over a relationship, or had a bad week, but that was when I was quite young. I've gotten drunk about 2-3 times in the last 10-12 years, which I lately try not to repeat. As you mentioned, the next day is horrible with headaches and stomachache... so just keeping in mind that, and it should be a good incentive before you start drinking! I've also noticed when a drink gets to my head a bit stronger than the early drinks. I really start to notice it, so I take it easy, or eat something, which helps. And after a while, I can drink a bit more... And lets not forget... you can't mix drinking with driving, so that's something that by now should be a great factor if you are going to drink or not.
