doppelganger: is this true? - double of one's self, doppelganger
it came to a point where it happened to me.i thought what i saw is my friend but i didn't call her.i just figure out first if she really is my friend but then, she's not so i just ignored her. oh,i remember when i was at my work and suddenly a guy stood in front of me,i thought he was someone i knew,so i asked him if he was,to my surprise,he's not! what a disgrace!i felt like my face turned red because of shyness!hahaha... when i'm in high school days, there was a night camp back then and my friends did know that i'm not coming.but then, they noticed a girl looks like me.when i arrived, they were surprised to see me,walking the different way.they thought it was me that they saw few seconds ago.then, few moments later, some friends of mine had known my "twin" feature.and we met.i guess we look the same in some angles.but then we're really different persons. my sister had also experienced that but kinda creepy way.it's like some soul or bad spirit has doubled their friend and the features of their true friend is the opposite of the doubled one.i guess it's called doppelganger.a ghostly counterpart of a living person.i really don't know if there's really such a thing.but it's really creepy.it's like you and your double is competing on who's gonna live and who will die,i really don't know if this is true.creepy!

Hiya jugs, Once when I was waiting for an appointment in a local Surgery I thought I was talking to the next Door neighbour and in reality it was her Sister. I could not believe it they are not twins either it´s just that they dress exactly the same talk and walk the same everything even the way she does her Hair and the colour. I was completely dumbfounded when I realized. Have never come across such a likeness before in my life. However I did notice that she seemed very distant well that was the reason why I was talking to a complete stranger well you could have fooled me. Many People have mistaken me for someone else before too so I am not the only one out there.

Hi jugs, actually, I have been on the other end of this situation. Strangers have said hi, to me, and then when I don't know them, they have tried to convince they know me, albeitunder a different name. It is quite scary. I must have a very comomn face, I guess.

Actually, my first wife was one of a twin. When I first met here I could not tell them apart, but once I got to know both of them, I could easily do so. But I seemed to be the only one who could!_Derek

hi jugsjugs this actually happened to me when I was b ack in my early twenties and working in Rapid City. I was in the Greyhound bus statin waiting for the coyote busline running to my home town. Someone came up from behind, twirled me around and thoroughly kissed me like I had never been kissed before. This young man was in an army uniform and when He drew back he gasped, Oh my gosh,I am so sorry, You aren't Ruthie? I laughed and said, No my name is Patsie,do I look like yourRuthie? He handed me a picture of her and I was in total shock, she looked just like me, only she was a bit slimmer but our faces looked like twins. What made me shiver was she had the same last name as mine. Clark,. this was long before I married Mr. hatley. I went on home and often thought about that woman ,she was maybe a year young than I was. Years later I discovered via my genealogy searching that my father had sowed a bunch of wild oats, and yes Ruthie was one of them, and she also lived in South Dakota. My dad had to have been playing around about the time I was born, and cheating on my mom as Ruthie was surely a half sister. This did not help me to like my father a nymore than I already disliked him. thats another sordid story.

For quite a while I would see a person at Wal Mart that looked a lot like someone named Janet, that I had worked with at a nursing home. I would greet her, "Hello, Janet." and then get corrected. We finally introduced ourselves and I do not do it any more. The truth is, she looked better, more kept up, than Janet.

Yes that sometimes happens. Last year I went on a holiday with a group and when at the airport we were chatting with others in the group and a girl was exactly like my sister that I had to go near hear and make sure it wasn't her :). Even from the vicinity she was very similar but obviously it wasn;t her.

Hi Jugs,,,Yes, this has happened to me. There is an old adage that says "everyone has a double" and I kind of believe its true. Not only that but have you ever met someone who looks and acts just like someone you know? They will have the same way of talking, the same manorisims. I have a neighbor who reminds me so much of my sister in law that its unbelievable. She talks like Jeannie (sis in law), makes the same facial expressions as Jeannie, and even walks like her. It makes you think that maybe there are only so many molds of people with different personalities injected!!! lol. I have had people tell me too that I look just like so and so. I have called out to someone I thought was someone else once. Even when I got up close the resemblence was remarkable..Have a great Sunday..

Once at a party, I was expecting a former boss of mine to be there. There was another man who looked so much like him, but he didn't quite look right and he didn't recognize me.

it never happened to me before. even if i think that the person i saw is the one that i actually knew, i never really talk to them first. i would make it sure that it is actually him or her. even when there are twins in our family, i still never made mistakes talking to the wrong twin.

I have seen people that resemble my friends but never to that extent. I have, however, been accused of ignoring or snubbing a friend somewhere that I was never at. I have been accused of having a twin a few times.

I've never actually seen anyone to whom this could have happened with from my life. However, there is one person on mylot that said she initally thought that I was her daughter in law based on my profile picture and also based on the way that I write. I honestly think that she was convinced that was who I was until she asked me about my children and when I told her about mine, it didn't jive with her daughter in law's information.

Apparently we all have a doppleganger or some fancy word like that. It means that there is another person or twin on the planet for everyone and anyone. We all have someone who looks almost identical to us. Not sure if its true but it would be so sweet!
