What was my mailman thinking?

I noticed the flag on the mailbox was down so went to check the mail. In the box was all of today's mail. But ON TOP of todays mail was the mail we put in yesterday to be OUTGOING. The mail person had taken it out, put the new mail in, then put our outgoing mail BACK in on top of todays mail. Why didn't they take our outgoing mail?

That has happened to me in the past. I chalk it up to them not thinking in the moment. They have other things on their minds and the whole process is so repetition that they got confused. They probably grabbed the mail inside the mailbox put the new mail under the mail that you wanted them to take and they just put the whole bundle back in the mailbox. Not realizing what they had just did. I guess if you are going to a hundred or more houses delivering mail each day it can get quite monotonous after awhile.

Every person's job gets tedious after a while, I'm sure. This is not the first time he's not picked up out outgoing mail, just the first time he's put it back in on top of our new mail.

Wow. Well, I'd say he must have taken them out, put the new mail in, gotten confused, and put the outgoing mail back in Unless you've done something to piss him off

I don't THINK we've done anything to piss him off.

Maybe he got confused with the mails. I dunno. We don't usually use mailboxes here in my place.

I guess he could have gotten confused, thinking it was two handfulls to put IN the box. It might be because he's always talking on his cell phone while working too, and not concentrating on his job.
