Hi friends I joined this site just one day ago and after acquainting myself how the site works to test applied for a simple data entry job and got an interview call too and imagine what I am asked to do to join awsurveys through a referral link and complete the surveys there to be eligible to get simple data entry work..what do you think about this...I know very well awsurveys is a scam site...I denied the job and not selected obviously for the work but happy...because the person tried to use me for referral earnings sorts of thing in the name of a test interview when I know this site is a scam one.what say? may be by replying directly I have closed doors of getting some work from them in future but doing something I know is not exactly a test its just a frame...I heard my soul and denied directly to complete the task.

Well scammers try to enter everywhere . Odesk has a system of approval of payment system for the employer . Whenever you bid on a project look at the Payment verification tab for the status of the buyer. Even if it is positive then also look out for the feedback received by the buyer for his/her projects opened. I got my first job at odesk almost 15 days after joining odesk but it was really good one of article rewriting and I got the payment very promptly and also the feedback was good for me. Make sure to choose good buyers . Odesk tries to lower the scams but people who are adamant try to bring rubbish in there . Always look at the Payment verification status of the buyer .

That's some interesting information myl999. I have been also directed to oDesk for freelance job but I wasn't quite sure about the site. My guts didn't trust it! Well you can just drop the site and choose another that has been proven that is legit: Freelancer. Thanks a lot

Odesk is definitely legit! You're making a mistake if you don't try it out. The fees charged after job is finished are so small, you can't hardly miss it.

Hello! Just want to give you a piece of my mind. I have been an odesk member for some time now but I have been able to get some jobs and got paid for them. Maybe the link to AW Surveys was just one of the instances where odesk was not able to monitor their clients/employers. You should have reported this to odesk so that they could remove the job opening and to prevent other people from getting scammed. Anyway, so far, I've had good experience with odesk and what I can say is that odesk is not a scam. A person trying to seek employment online should also know how to evaluate the pros and the cons before passing any judgment. Thanks and happy mylotting!

I haven't joined this site but I guess I am going to join it. I just hope I won't get a call like that. I don't like those kind of interviews.

i have not heard about the site before and i am not sure whether it is a scam or not. But i think it is wise of you to refuse to register in Awsurvey which has proven to be a scam

It seems like a black hat method. I've read about similar tactics in a black hat forum like asking applicants to submit writing samples for non-existent jobs. If you need to demonstrate certain skills like writing it pays to have existing websites. Same with programming skills.

I can say that Odesk is an authentic online site providing jobs for those who want to earn extra cash. I used to sign up before, had an interview, created the tasks that was assigned to be and actually get paid. It's just that I concentrated more on my business and forgot about the Odesk thing. But this is certainly not a scam.
