Do you Really Take Seriously the Saying that LIFE IS TOO SHORT?

We often hear this from almost everyone.Read this from someone's profile as motto, etc, etc. In fact, it is too often that it has become too ordinary and shallow. Life is too short to waste it over nonsense things. Sometimes what is important to us, family and loved ones, are often neglected and replaced with material needs. We thought that life will never end so soon. Not tomorrow. that what we must do today for our loved ones can still be done tomorrow. Ignoring the fact that tomorrow has no guarantee for us to have. Then, after realizing that life has ended, we sighed "How I wish I Had...". Sad isn't?

Its very sad and life is too short. I try to live well and completely. As I get older I realize what is most important. People. Relationships.

Hi, Laglen. :-) I'm happy to hear that you can do that and that it is not too late for you to realize it. How I wish I am like you.:-) Well, as we grow older, we tend to focus on the more important things in our lives, mostly immaterial. You are right, people and relationships matter as one gets to realize how to live its life to the fullest. Keep smiling, Laglen.:-)

I am looking forward to that day when the storm in my life will be over. I am pretty sure it will be a lot better than I have expected.:-)

seriously... and it follows with the saying, "if you can do it now, why wait for tomorrow?" what we can do today, let's do it and not wait for the following day as most of the time, you forget to do what you have thought you already have done earlier.

It is very true, Neil. We should seize the moment while it is still there. Once it is gone, it is gone and it is gone for good. We can never turn back time. Besides, there's no guarantee that tomorrow will still be ours to have. Past shouldn't be remembered with regrets. Have a great weekend, my dear. Thanks.:-)

i think can way too short for us, often we see someone who's healthy then go out and die in a car accident, or just from getting hurt. wrong place and the wrong time. people can die without any warning at all. but people stil waste time on really dumb things and fight over dumb things. they forget about those who should matter, family first of all. then they will put friends before family. and if someone in the family passes then you hear oh i should have made more time, oh i shouldnt have or i should have. i came close to dying a few times at an young age.

Hi, Well it depends on what you mean by a wastage. This world is a crazy place and people do often behave quite unexpectedly. Some may give priority to his wife and children above all. On the other hand, some may think marriage will ruin their lives. Some enjoys studying so much that he takes it as a purpose of human life. Some people also think that helping other people in their sufferings is the best way to enjoy life. So, whether life is too short or too long, actually depends on the person who is looking at it. If you think that you really don't have much to do with your life, then life may seem endless to you. On the other hand, if you are very serious about having some real 'action' in your life, then sleeping on a comfortable bed may sound exhausting to you. I personally believe and feel that life is too short, as there are so many things I wanna do. Time seems passing swiftly yet such a huge portion of it is lost everyday without actually doing anything fruitful. Though we always get something good from the time we pass, but most of the time we actually stay inactive. And that is exactly what I am unable to stand. Thanks God bless you

Whenever I encounter those words, I then ponder on the path and direction that my life should take. It's because right now, I feel like I'm not doing anything sensible in my life. It's like I'm lost in the wilderness at the moment. I want to make use of what I have - both the tangible and intangible - and do whatever I want and need. I want to do every thing that I feel would make my life worth living for. They say that "patience is a virtue". But how long will I wait? I don't want to wait forever - for the right job, etc. Oh well, sometimes life is just so confusing.

No one knows exactly how long one would live. Life is indeed very short. But the word 'short' is really subjective. By that I mean one could live up to a hundred years while another half of that length of time. Telling ourselves that life is too short would remind us how we should live our lives to the fullest today, to enjoy our lives today, to learn as much as we could today, to do our best in whatever we do today, to try to leave a legacy behind today and do many of the good things today if we believe we would be rewarded for what we have done because tomorrow may never come.
