It is difficult now to have more than one Paypal account...

Ever since Paypal changed its rules and started asking for pan number and other details it is not possible to have more than one account with paypal.I know that many members have had more than one account, but with one pan card you cannot access more than one account. I too had had a paypal account which I had initially opened and then forgotten about.Recently ,I decided to transfer the little money ( 3 dollars +) from that account to my steady paypal account and found that I couldn't do so, since I had to give my pan number to access it and when I gave the same number as I had given to my usual paypal a/c, and was told that there was already an account with that number.So that means that you can have only one paypal account...

Hi Kiran,
I have two accounts in paypal and one is verified. I opened another account for neobux because my earlier account got suspended when I was on my vacation last year. I joined again there with new paypal address (as they are not accepting the old account’s paypal address). I received money from neobux and I transferred to my verified account. But they charged a high amount of fees for transfer. I wish to say that I don’t have a PAN number yet. I have planned to apply but I could not do it and the reason is my works are going on smoothly with paypal. Last month I transferred money to my bank successfully. Presently I don’t have any money in my paypal.

Hi Sreekala, now with the new regulations you have to provide a PAN number before any money transaction takes place and also your telephone number.So in effect you can have only one account.I too am in the same situation as you are.I have one active account with my PAN number but for the second you cannot furnish the same PAN number. I am pondering as to how to access my money in the other account ...all the best Sreekala, and do get a PAN card quickly since it is mandatory now for all online transactions

You are right you can not make two paypal account with same PAN no. even we cannot share our paypal with others in mylot. Means if our two family members joined in mylot they cannot share same paypal account. So two accounts is necessary but different name and different PAN no. only IP address may be same.

Yes i think paypal changed its rules properly for thsi reason so having as target this:one user can have just one paypal account and not so much more...so they added restrictions for all users!!

Yes that is the idea! It is good in a way, and I am all for it, but the sudden change of rules will affect Indians adversely.I am not sure if Paypal has implemented this rule in other countries as well because I know that many members belonging to other countries in Asia and elsewhere too have more than one account with paypal..

Hi, kiran8. I suppose it is so. If I wanted to sign up with another paypal email address, I would have to add another bank. Which I may not have at the moment. So it is also hard for me too. I am going to call them about this soon being that I want to have another account.

Hi cream, bank is easier done than pan card.One can have only one bank account and I dont think they bother too much about the bank account .it is the pan number that is important.I guess if you have 2 accounts then you have to give some relatives pan number to get the money out, and then it is better to have just one paypal account for all online transactions ...

Kiran, I should think that it will regularise the system.It used to be quite chaotic with some having half a dozen paypal accounts and difficult to keep track of ! Now with the additional info requirement it becomes easier for both Paypal and its members to keep track of their account transactions.It will also bring down any kind of nefarious activities that could take place in the guise of net earnings !

Hi Sumant, I agree with that. The only problem is with those already having more than one accounts . It is difficult to continue using more than 2 accounts since we need to provide a pan card number.But as you say it will be easier and more straight forward to handle the paypal accounts in the future...Have a nice evening sumant
