How I wish to avenge thee!!

Hello friends, This is seriously getting on my nerves. When I started blogging 2 years back, I never had any motif to gain financially from my blog. Over these years I have helped many students with my blog. But now the present situation entails that I may gather some financial support for the effort I want to give to my blog. It is getting difficult day by day. So I started looking for opportunities, but Alas!, how did I forget? I was in wordpress. In wordpress you are instigated to blog, it is so good. But whenever you become addicted to it, it refuses to pay for your rehab. This is so cruel. I went everywhere. I followed Adsense to its home. I knocked Bidvertisement's door. And what did they give me? They gave me this precious javascript code, the magical amulet that seems to bring me luck and prosperity. Then I went back to my abode, wordpress. There I ransacked almost everywhere to find a place to put this amulet of mine. And Lo! What I find here? I find that the entire 2 years of study and contribution was all in vain. The free version of wordpress doesn't support javascript. Now this is really funny. My mind seems to malfunction as I am eating up chocolates as if I am crushing and swallowing the whole blogging service. "How this wounded soldier may ever avenge thee!"

go easy on the chocolates :) if i were you, i'd move the blog to a new host & redirect the wordpress one to the new site. then slowly get your students and readers to just go to the new address and shut down the wordpress one. wordpress is good to start with, but once your blog has grown and practically has a life on its own, it'll be time to move it to better pastures.. :) and chill out on the chocolates...if not i'll start a discussion titled 'how can we get our fellow myLotters to not vent themselves via chowing down chocolates..' :) hehe..

I don't know when you responded again. I didn't get any notification for that. But I have already moved my blog as you suggested. I put a link in my old, deserted blog to direct all followers to the new one. Here is the new one. http://glad2learn.blogspot.com Please send me some feedback on this. It is still under construction though. Thanks so much for your support. Take care

hehe...so are the chocolates safe already? :) and when you hire the caterpillar truck, you better do it quick, before it becomes a butterfly truck...hehe :) don't need to transplant your whole blog.. some of my friends have went through similar experiences like you. when moving to a new host, take advantage of the setup to refresh 'look & feel' of your blog. trust me, if your blog's followers are properly informed & updated, they'll appreciate your new look. and who knows? you might even attract more people to it too! :)

Hi Getbiswa, you might as well buy the domain name from godaddy, and then migrate the blog from free wordpress to your own domain. You can still use wordpress to host your blog. I remember reading in the forum about using redirect 301 to migrate the blog. Check out the forum at digitalpoint. Many bloggers are using self-hosting option for their blogs. The best thing is that you can even sell your blog later. Just remember to buy the domain for more than one year. If you are into it for the long term, buy for ten years.

Oh Nooo! Please don't tell me anything about 'buying'. I really can't do it. Isn't there any other way, a free way rather? I am still a student and have only $26 in my paypal account.

Well i think it is good for you the javascript didn't work. Because if it works, and they found out, they will banned you, because you cannot use free wordpress for making money ( i think they have that rules in their tos, or somewhere ). That is why i stop using free wordpress and start renting domain three years ago ( Although i don't know if they allowed adds now ).

Hello, Yes, I solved the problem, in a rather troublesome way. I had to copy each and every article in my new blog in blogger. I tried to import and then export. But it seems that the xml format exported by a wordpress blog is not supported by a blogger blog. With my high frequency of article submission blogger identified my blog as a spam. But I had all my articles exported successfully in blogger's xml format. So I imported it again in a new domain. Now its working fine. Thanks so much for your response. God bless you

Sweetie, i don't know much about blogging, but please promise me you will rather throw a tantrum than diving into those chocolates. I have a headache from all that sugar you got in. TATA.

Hi, Then please gimme something to burn or break. I am really on the verge if deleting my entire blog. If one has a headache there are solution, if one can't stand sugar, there is medication, but having an headache from sugar, will be really confusing to medical practitioners. I expected some advice from you Thanks
