What are some excuses you use for not exercising?

When I was little I used to get up before my parents did and go downstairs and watch the exercise shows that would be on in the morning. I loved it. I had so much energy I never got tired and I just felt so healthy knowing my body was getting a good work out. Since I've had kids though I am so unmotivated. For awhile I will do great with exercising often and then I just slack off and tell myself excuses for not exercising each night. Most the time I just think oh it wont matter I'll just do it tomorrow night and make up for it but then the next night rolls around and guess what lol I still havent exercised. I really do have a legitimate excuse right now though. I really want to exercise because I feel like I'm starting to look gross but I'm taking a medicine that has made me sun sensitive and I keep getting hives all over my body when I go outside. I put sunblock on today but after an hour I started getting hives. I dont want to exercise and make my body over exert itself and get them any worse because they itch enough as it is. What excuses do you make for not exercising? Do you say ahh my head hurts tonight or say well I didnt eat that much so I probably dont need to exercise tonight? You tell me what excuses you've come up with.

I try not to have an excuse for not exercising. We need to do whatever we can to keep our bodies and mind fit. One good excuse for not being abe to sray with an exercise routine would be time. Sometimes busy hectic schedules keep us from seeing to our exercising needs.

Thats true some people are so busy they really dont have the time to exercise. I have the time after my kids go to bed but I get tired after taking care of them and whatever else during the day that by night time rolls around I dont feel like exercising. But you are right we need to do what we can to keep both our bodies and our minds fit.

LOL its been about six months and I have not broken my habit of skipping my night time workout. If anything I have gotten worse. I pretty much only do a few sit ups a few times a week. I really wish I could get over my slump and get exercising again I felt better about myself when I knew I looked fit.

The more you stay away the easier it becomes to make excuses. After a while, you stop making excuses. I enjoy walking when I am in the groove. When I get tired of it then I use the weather - too hot or too cold or too windy. I have also said I did not have the right shoes. Then I bought Sketchers. I'm all out of excuses. Time to get with the program. Good luck.

When my ex and I split up I exercised all the time because it helped get my anger out and I wanted to look good but now I just only do a few sit ups once a week lol. I really need to get motivated to take at least 30 minutes each night and exercise. I would probably feel better.

Well i kind of use the similar excuse. See I work all day. Then when I get home I like to spend my quality time with my son. So i would tell myself i would exercise in the morning. Then I would be up half the night because my son wouldn't sleep well still doesn't. So after hitting my snooze button how ever many times I only manage to have enough time for a shower before heading off to work again. So it becomes hard for me to make time for exercise. I do try to put it in on the weekends though. Right now though im having to take it easy cause im expecting my second baby.

Well its been 6 months so I wonder if you have had your second baby yet? I sometimes hit the snooze button on my alarm clock as well but most the time as soon as the alarm goes off I jump up and get out of bed. If not then I always wind up late for things because I will just think oh I'm so tired I can sleep a little longer then I get up and dont have as much time as I usually do to get ready and then I wind up late.

Awww we're on the same track I guess... But you know, come to think of it, finding excuses for not exercising is not doing us any good. The alibi I always say to myself is that I am too busy with work -- since I am doing writing jobs online and early mornings are usually the busiest hours of my day, so at least I have a good excuse. However, as the day goes along, I feel that I am getting weaker and weaker, and I feel that my body is really getting weaker with each passing day. I only get to up this energy level when I go for my Tae-bo lessons which I do only on Sundays with my youngest son. Shhisshh... When will we ever learn???

That does make sense. If we choose to exercise at night after the events of the day we are all usually to tired to exercise. Thats probably my biggest problem. But I dont really have time to exercise during the day like I would at night. But at night I'm just to tired and lazy to do it very often lol.

I can be motivated with the most advanced and latest machines and equipments to keep me exercising. but if i don't like the equipment, i'd rather not exercise lol. I also use the weather as my excuse. The weather where I live is really hot and i mean 37 degrees HOT! I'd sweat like a fat man with that kind of weather and i don't like sweating at all. All that body odor would feast on me if i get all sweaty lol! But for the past week, I found the perfect exercise for me--swimming! Swimming improves my blood circulation, great for full body work out AND i don't have to sweat doing it. plus, it lessen my pimples too! maybe because of the fresh blood circulating in me and the chlorine may have dried my pimples. LOL. still, swimming is the best for me. :D

Swimming is a very simple yet effective form of exercise. My mother doesnt exercise but in the summer time she loves to swim in her pool. Its a round one so its not easy to do laps but it doesnt matter to her because she doggy paddels lol. We actually had a convo about this at a recent playgroup how most of my friends dont swim right either they just doggy paddel. I feel really silly swimming in front of people because I always feel like people are going to laugh at how I swim like I might not do it right. I guess I'm just very self-concious because I cant exercise in front of people either. Running in front of people to me is sooo embarrassing.
