I was so happy to have my first job in odesk. I have been a member for a long time and i am only active for the last two months. I was losing hope already because there are lots of applicants with experience and here i am a beginner. I have been invited for interviews but it seems that they get other applicants. Then one day, i have read in my email that i have already an assignment. I was so happy, though I was only given 10 hours to finish it. At least, i have experience working in odesk! Are you familiar with odesk? Any tips on how to get a job there! I'll be happy to hear your comments and suggestion.

I enrolled myself with odesk, some two or three months back.Applied for some jobs and I was rejected.Losing hope, just a month back,I uninstalled all those odesk cam and related things and forget about the site. But for my surprise,I was called for an interview for data entry job,two days back.Oh.....I just ignored it.

Congrats!! Thats a great accomplishment..I signed up with odesk just a few days ago and still trying to familiarize with it, I took some of their exams as these would increase your chances of getting a job. Hope I can get also an assignment with them. Good luck..

I actually only signed up for odesk last night. I am hoping to be able to find a job as quickly as possible on there, but as you said I am sure being a novice on the site is going to hinder my ability to get jobs. I have to admit I am a little nervous about odesk, it seems to great to be real! Keep me updated on how your first job goes and if it aides in you receiving more job offers!.

I did focus first on my profile and take some odesk test to help enhance my profile. I have been a member long time ago but i just became active this past few months. I find it hard to get my first job but its really worth it. I came to a point of bidding .5/hr just to get a job. Anyways, good luck and i know you will get jobs in odesk.

Lucky for you. I applied a month ago but no response from any employers. Oh well, I'll just stick to my other online earnings. Good luck to both of us.

Congratulation on your new job. Please be vigilant as there are also scammers in Odesk. I would suggest that you request for an advance payment for the project if possible. 10 hours of work is no joke and it would be a shame to just allow scammers to take advantage of your work without you getting paid. Good luck!

Congratulations! I also signed up in Odesk. I tried my test but undone with my profile... I'm into training and orientation about the job...You're right, the competation is stiff also there since there are many applicants on line. I haven't apply any job yet.

I also signed up in ODesk but unfortunately I'm still waiting to get a job there. I'm a programmer and its hard to compete to other that has lots of experience in ODesk. So I'm now applying to simple jobs like data entry. Congrats for your first job. Hope I get my first job soon. :D
