Which is better, The old Facebook or the new Facebook?

I remember when i first signed up for Facebook in 2006. It was completely one dimensional. You wrote on peoples walls and they responded. Now there is Facebook chat, several annoyings apps, notifications, invites and all sorts of page cluttering ideas.
Im wondering if the old Facebook was way better or does everyone like the new Facebook?

Yep, those things can be annoying..
But what I notice for the newer update of FB, it's targeting more user privacy. Like you can 'hide' your wall comments from those you don't want to and pictures too. This may work for gaming users, whom don't want to irritate their contacts with game notifications or other forms of notifiers on their walls to be reflected on their friends home pages. So it's a win-win in some ways, but it's still cluttered.

You are right, it is so cluttered. I blocked app invites and everything else. all of my photos are private also

i do like some aspects of the new faceboo. ie: chat but everything else i dislike
