Do you find that you go through phases on MyLot?

There are times on this website where I do nothing but answer the questions that post by others and maybe throw in a couple of questions. Then there are times where I do the asking, with maybe a few responses here and there for topics that interest me. Then there are times where things are a bit more evenly balanced. Do you find that you go through cycles like this where one day you may be posting more questions than answers and then more answers than questions the next week? Looking forward to reading your responses.

Yes. I have gone through and I think still on one of those phases you were mentioning. I try my best to come up with quality discussions, just having a hard time formulating an interesting one. I think I am more of the participator. I am able to share a lot when I'm participating. But when it comes to actually be the one to initiate a discussion -- well... I guess I'm just in the phase where I'm still learning the ways in creating a quality discussion.

Yes, it is best not to really force the issue. Ideas will come so fast that you can barely keep track of them on some days. And then there will be other days where they might not flow as freely. When I have like a good dozen or so ideas, I try to write them down and spread them out, save them for a day where I might not be creative enough to think of a discussion but that only works well some of the time. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day.

I have had different moods in here lately, as it has been hard to find good discussions to respond to, as there have been a lot of repeated discussions, which is very frustrating in itself. I have since decided to pots responses to my friends discussions and I find some there, but I don'[t respond to all of the, as I would be at it for ages. I have been encouraged by others to stick with it, and i am, but I have slowed down considerable as what I make here won't make or break me either way. It is just a bonus and nothing more. It won't pay the bills, but it will help help me to buy something that I might need, or want, so it is all good. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Yes, I notice there are a lot of recurring topics. That might be because as I am hear for the months, there tends to be things that pop up again. I tend to really not be too hung up on how much a make. Payout is nice to make but I will not lose any sleep. This is very much a hobby these days and if I make money, every little bit does help. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated. Have a nice day and thanks.

I do have those phases myself. Sometimes I will come here and feel like starting a discussion (have not started many) and other times I will just respond. Lately I have only been responding. I have not started a discussion in quite some time. I do try to hit several different areas though. I will start with top discussions, hot, friends started, my interests, new and not responded to. I like to try to round them off and hit several different areas. I have found that it actually helps to increase my earnings when I show more variety of topics. (At least it seems that way to me.)

That is actually true. I recognized this pattern before, but i never really considered the reason why it happens...

I sometimes like to just go around all of the interests, and look at the pictures that the users have uploaded. I also tend to go into a lurk mode at times. Just reading the opinions of other people intrigues me. Whether I agree with them or not, I like to take in different view points.

Funnily enough, I actually lurked at this website for an entire month before I actually started posting. I wanted to get a feel about it and I find myself rather drawn to the differing opinions of people. So much that it distracts me from actually participating at times, as some things can be enlightening. Or amusing or absurd depending on your perspective. Still, there is some value. Thank you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to this topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

It is sometimes good to take a break. It is very, very easy to get burn out on a site like myLot. I find that if I step back for a day or two at times, I will be mostly fine. Either that, or limit my exposure. Take times for the batteries to recharge. Then I will return with a vengeance and it will be twice as addicting. Than you for your response, it is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

hi megamatt yes I sometimes go for long periods without making a discussion then I just respond to my friends discussions and read most all the discussions, other times I get an idea and make my own discussion and maybe make several. then off to respond' to my friends and also to comment on the responses to the discussions' I had made.Yes I do go through phases and I guess that is what keeps me coming back here all the time.

I am just one of those people that spends all the time on Mylot answering other people's discussions. I rarely make up a discussion for other people to answer because I have some difficulty thinking up a discussion that people would take the time to answer to.
