What is your way of enjoying life?

With money tight in most households I am curious as to what people do to feel like they are really enjoying life. Take a vacation? Family night? Special dinner? Buy themselves something extravagant? What?

spending time with my family is always something special to me. with work, and trying to start my own business my family is so important to me. I have not been on a vacation in years and years and would love to take one. like you said, for my family right now is not the right time. I enjoy life every day just by being alive, by being present in the moment of every day. things are nice and they do help you enjoy life a bit more. but i don't need stuff. i need the love and smiles of my family to really enjoy life

We do go out occasionally, but I wish we did not, that money can go someplace else. We cook together, take walks, and go to the library together. I enjoy when my son will go shopping with me. We look for hours in Hobby Lobby and never buy a thing, just get new ideas. Our family used to be really big on playing games and doing jigsaw puzzles. We really like each other's company.

even if we are also having a hardship with the budget, we always look for some times for bonding. if we feel so troubled, we go to the province where the house is at the beach, so we have lots of time to relax. we can say, vacation.

For my husband, it's just having the air con, cold drinks and watching his television programmes. For me, it's having my own time to be using the computer and if it's a hot weather, having the air con is good.

When we moved into the new apartment I thought it sort of a bummer that we didn't have a washer and dryer or a dishwasher. I did find that we had an air con though. I it may pay for not having the other three. Almost.

Oh yes, the laundry. I know I'll die if I have to hand wash. Even now with the washer, I could hardly finish washing the load, and I am doing 2 to 3 washings of 5kg load a day. The washer is a must in my life. Thanks for reminding. See, I'm a vivid example of how people tend to take things for granted and not appreciate when they have it. heeheehaha

We are contented on what we have. We have our way of celebrating each others birthday with a simple food and drinks to share. We are big family, there are 11 childrens and 11 adults also. Almost every other week of the month there is one celebrates a birthday in our house, excluding the other celebrations of graduations and other program we party of it. We are happy of that and we don't ask for more.

I think it's so good that youall get together like this every so often as a family. So many families don't do this very often any more. It sounds like you have a big family, too, and that's a rarity these days. I'm glad youall enjoy each other this much.

hi celticeagle I enjoy life by mylotting, listening to music playing games on computer, and playing bingo downstairs, as there are not many ways to enjoy life in a retirement center' when you are used to living in your own apartment and doing' your own things when and if you want to.

I enjoy the same things. I am not a very social person so online is my cup of tea. I also mountain bike when I am able to in the Spring and Summer.

sad thing is, i enjoy life through the internet and watching things on tv most times. i know theres others like that here also. i really get a kick out of my friends on here and in pogo club games. we talk, email, discuss things and i even meet new here and there. also, i get a lot of enjoyment from living with my son at times when one of his gf's are not making life impossible. hes very funny and sings and tells jokes to me. my little dog is a joy. she sometimes grabs her food, throws it in the air, pounces on it, then looks to see if we are laughing. now that i got started answering this question, i see i have a lot to be happy about. thanks friend

It is sort of sad. I was just discussing this with my counselor earlier today. Animals make their own entertainment don't they? Too cute! It was nice when I was living with my daughter because i had that interaction with my grandson and her. It was enjoyable.

Hey celtic! I am never one to buy anything extravagant! I'd much rather buy lots of things that are "reasonable priced"lol! I could go to the dollar stores or some other "cheap stores" and have a field day rather than buy something expensive! That's what I enjoy! But, being able to buy things online is very dangerous for me! I can buy anything from a $40 vase, that I like, but don't need to jewelery that I don't need! Someone needs to watch me 24/7! If I am up late or early in the morning hours I can spend my whole credit card limit! I am a shopoholic and need help! And there is no one to stop me at 3:00m when I am on Biddz.com!

I wouldn't mind having some nice extravagant things but I rarely buy them for myself. I did buy me some things on HSN and QVC when I retired and got my settlement. It was nice but I know I can't do it all the time. I used to stay up and watch these shopping channels at all hours and if I bought all I saw that I liked I would be way in debt.

There has not been a lot of that in my house for about six months now. My company is working me like a borrowed mule and I signed up for school before I knew all that overtime was coming. I am lucky enough to have tomorrow off though..woo hoo I was thinking of going to the zoo with my b/f and my girls. I have been wanting to see that new Clash of the Titans movie too. When I'm not working all the time, I like to oil paint. I also like hiking and visiting a waterfall that is close to where I live. I really enjoy being outside in the summer. I also like being here on myLot. It's "my time".

I enjoy all those things too. I have a nice mountain bike and like to go on the green belt. Also we have foothills here and it is fun to ride up in them and look down on the city.

I like to go out to eat occasionally. I used to go out every week but now I go out about 3 times a month. It's less expensive this way. Since I live alone like I said in response to one of your previous discussions, I get tired of eating at home by myself so much. I also have my hair colored once a month and as a treat, I go out to eat that night. I also sing and play the guitar a lot. As a matter of fact, I sing and play the guitar for one local nursing home and assisted living facility every month. I feel good knowing I've made the residents feel good. I also enjoy riding horseback and I do this at a local therapeutic riding cneter where I volunteer. I also have a horse here at home but he's not broken to be ridden yet. It won't be much longer before he will be broken, though.

I would really love to go on vacation right now so I can de-stress and contemplate on what direction to take. Unfortunately I could not afford to have a vacation right now so I am just at home trying to enjoy the simple things in life. Like being able to eat pizza and drink coke while online. There are a lot of people in the world who can't even afford to eat one meal in a day so I should count my blessings in life.

Enjoying life is a matter of choosing to really enjoy life. You see enjoyment comes in many packages. But we should aim for those that last longer if not for a lifetime. Being able to help other people is always a rewarding life experience that does not only give joy to the ones you have helped but to yourself as well. For me also, the best way to enjoy life is to give back to our nature the care it deserves. We have enjoyed so much of our nature's provision and it is just fair to care for it so that the future generations will enjoy as well. Life is wasted when we neglect our responsibility to take care of our environment. Isnt it joyful to breath fresh air anytime anyday? most often that doesnt happen anymore. Isn't it more meaningful if we enjoy life with a purpose?
