reality shows or soap operas? / myLot

Sometimes I can't help but shake my head sideways from seeing too much drama on national television (thank God for cable!). If there's no reality tv based from other foreign reality tv shows, there's dumb drama stories based from other foreign drama. It's like there are no more original and unique writers in the country.

well, if i have to be honest I dislike them both, just because for me these both kinds of shows are actually "brai-washers" and I prefer to watch something else, something that worths and not to waste my time with entertaining programs like that, because as I told it really doesn't worth the time

soap operas, the reality show are just orchestrated shows manipulating people without pride. they dont show reality any more is all premade for an example look at mtv

I am not really a fan of watching tv.I don't have a definite favorite tv show and would rather download the whole season so I get to watch the series without interruption.between these 2,however,I would choose reality shows even if some are already plain ridiculous.I prefer seeing a reaction on a certain stimuli,on the spot.I would like to hear a person's reaction based on his/her feelings,without ever relying on a script.

Same sentiments here. I've grown tired of watching local TV series which are obviously patterned from foreign ones. I also thank that we have a cable connection here because it's like an escape from watching weird and non-sense local shows. I don't watch local shows anymore that much. Foreign shows (and I mean here, American TV shows), I think, are original. They have sense and you can also actually learn from them (positively). I don't think that patronizing foreign shows is not being patriotic. It's just a matter of choice and we all have the right to choose.

Yupz maxen, You're right. I watch some tv programs that they claim were reality show. But, too weird to me. It like has been set up. And for tv drama, where are all good script writer? Have a nice weekend.

Soaps FTW :)I hate reality shows because they are so boring. Honestly , I can't name a good reality TV show. "flavor of love " Blerg... That is the worst , most fake series ever . I mean , somehow Flav always ends up single. Also real life dialogue just can't manipulate people's feelings because there is no set script and is reliant on the people in the show. Unlike in Soaps. Soaps are generally more interesting as well. It's like living another life when I watch them.

ofcourse reality shows.. it shows the true personality of a person.. and it shows a true story of life.. :)
