Our government spent a lot of money and energy on this. It gets started on 5/1 already. Recently, EXPO related advertisement and press can be seen anywhere on TV or news paper. What confusing me is, at first week, the actual visitor number is far low than expected. How do you guys, foreigner I mean, really think about EXPO? Is it more attracting than Olympic game? Is that possible that you really gonna plan to have a trip in China for attending EXPO?

sarstime, I do not think Expo is anything unnecessary but the opposite especially for China. I know that there are concerns and an equal number of bad press of China hosting this event. However, I feel that with the current economic weather and economy, no other countries could be more apt or suitable to host this World Expo this year, other than Mainland China. I feel that with China opening her doors to the world, she really has to find ways for countries around the world to feel welcome and show China to the world at a much faster rate. With the aid of such a worldwide event, people would then be compelled to visit China all the more. As Mainland China, opens her doors to the world for trade and economy, I am sure she will need to improve her current infrastructures for such an undertaking and by playing hosts these construction costs could just find more justifications and not forgetting recovery. Such an event, not only merely opens doors, it opens up economic well being like trade, investments and most of all tourism which all so vital and needed by Mainland China. Honestly, I see Expo doing more good for China than otherwise and I just wish her every success and the best in her endeavors. Cheers! Ref: http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2010expo/index.html

Totally agree with you. The developing country means a lot of parts need to improve. As younger of China, we have to face them, then fix, don't we?

If so, June, or September would be better options. Don't come in summer holiday, there would be a lot of students here.
