Rooney is in the form of his life. Everything he touches will become a goal eventually. He can become even more terrifying if Manchester United decided to bring in a few big-name players, or a world class strike partner that can truly complement Rooney. Rooney will be one of the players to watch in the upcoming 2010 World Cup.

Hi adhyz,
I think this season was a very good season for Wayne Rooney. He is very successful with Manchester United and England. Not with the title but at least as his ability to be a main target men. Before this, Wayne Rooney always play as a supportive striker. He did not play at the center forward position and even though he score a lot of goals but he did not used all his ability there.
With Cristiano Ronaldo went to Real Madrir and Carlos Tevez more to the other side of the road, Wayne Rooney become the only reliable striker for Manchester United. Dimitry Berbatov is not worth for the money spent on him while Micheal Owen is an injury prone player.
Wayne Rooney might not win the Golden Boot this season but his goals tally is better the before. He score a massive 26 goals and only an injuries for a few last games stop him from topped the goals record by Cristiano Ronaldo in a season.
Manchester United did not win the title this season because they were too dependable to Wayne Rooney. They would face the problem when Rooney was not on the team sheets because of injuries or suspension.

Rooney has really matured in this season. He has played his heart out and whenever he has played, Man U have looked really threatening as a side. When he has been out, Man U have looked rather toothless. It is a shame that Rooney did not get much of a support from others especially Berbatov who was supposed to share the load with him and that is the reason why Man U fell short of the title this season.
Cheers!
