The 20th of May 2010 will start the first ever annual Draw Muhammad Day. With all the irrationality of the Muslim world over the depiction of the prophet Muhammad recently it is time for the enlightenment sector of humanity to make a stand. It is easy for partakers of this immature religion to make death threats against one person who dared to exercise their right to speech but how willing will them be to make death threats against tens of thousands of people all collectively drawing an image of the prophet Muhammad on the same day? Will you make a stand on the 20th of May 2010? http://www.facebook.com/pages/Everybody-Draw-Mohammed-Day/121369914543425 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OWaZVMBw1E&feature=channel

I don't think this is a good idea. I don't mind offending those who want to murder and maim but there are millions of devout Muslims who are good people are are horrified by the terrorists who have hijacked their religion. These are the people I would not want to offend and hurt. It is much like deliberately going out of your way to offend me because I'm Christian and some whack jobs who claimed to be the same religion blew up abortion clinics. I have nothing to do with religious nuts who claim to be Christians so why would you want to offend me? I will not go out of my way to hurt and offend Muslims who are good people because of the actions of a relative few that claim to share their religion.

I don’t think the idea is more to insult Muslims than to see how they react to other people’s views and opinions. An entire nations bays for a lady teacher's blood just coz she suggested the name Muhammad for a teddy, a film maker is killed coz he ‘dared’ to draw Muhammad, fatwas are issued against writers if ever they publish their interpretation of the religion, riots break out everytime even a lame comment is made on Islam…I really really feel that the world has had enough of such medieval fanaticism. I know there are good Muslims who feel uncomfortable with terrorism but I don’t see them on the roads anywhere in the world openly condemning such activities. Ensconced in the comfort of their homes and community and religion, most Muslims are loathe to challenge the mullahs who entice such religious violence…rather most of them believe blindly whatever the mullahs preach them in their religious schools and are happy to just flow along with the tide of religious intolerance. Childishly happy & proud in the belief that Islam is indeed the greatest religion, they are against opening their mind to other people’s way of life or to any analysis of their religion. They have preconceived notions to which they hang on to for dear life. I don’t think you’ll find similar traits in any other major religion. Drawing Muhammad is a good idea as I believe it will be an opportunity to judge the maturity level of the Islamic community… if Muhammad is indeed a prophet, would a mere drawing be of any consequence to his position? If Islam is indeed the greatest religion, then can it be so frail that just a drawing of Muhammad can bring it down like a pack of cards? If the Islamic world just ignores this one without even a murmur, I’m sure the reactions from the other side too will peter out gradually. In today’s global scenario we have to respect others if we expect the same from them.

Yeah, it is time for the enlightenment sector of humanity indeed, after so long time of abusing children in Churches and killing them in Palestine, there must be a time for the enlightenment sector of humanity, by Child abusers and vampires, surely they will be innovative when drawing Muhammad, you see there will be no Hindus or Buddhas insulting Muslims by drawing Muhammad, and there is no Muslim want to draw the naked on the cross (Judas), with his Penni$ appear as the free gift of salvation, nor the vampire who used to kill children claiming that it is God's commandments, this is not worth our time. and while they are busy drawing Muhammad, while eating God and drinking His blood at the church, How do they miss it to draw their great sandwich which was suggested by Jesus in Ezekiel 4:12 they must find it delicious, so that they can draw it too.

I will try to draw a picture of Muhammad but what does a person look like that preaches that it is OK to abuse women, kill women if someone else look at them, or tells his followers that the way to salvation is to convert people or kill them.

Gewcew, I was just about to tell you that Laglen had a drawing (she's even taking lessons), but then I saw Laglen already posted. I can't draw...and I wouldn't have a clue how to draw little Muhammed stick men, but I'd sure love to... Laglen, are you going to share your drawing with us?

I have something in the works, yes. It's not exactly a drawing...more of a digital representation that is sure to offend those wackjobs who love making threats. We're just waiting for an excuse to shoot down here.
