Mama doesn't like Jason

We've had our foster kitties for almost 2 weeks now. Kit Kat, who is a beautiful tortoiseshell, fits right on in, just like she owns the place. If things weren't complicated in my life right now, I'd keep her. Mama and kittens are doing just fine, but Mama tries to get away as often as we let her. She's really good with people, but she's not as easy going with the other cats. Mostly she just growls and keeps her distance, but she really does not like Jason. I think it's because he's in her face all the time and he's constantly trying to play with the kittens. At least I think he's playing. It doesn't look like aggression. But anyway, when the kittens are out, they have to be closely supervised because of that. Kittens that young (less than 2 months) are adorable, they're fun, but they're also a pain in the butt. They climb up your legs, they run in all different directions, they can already climb over the gate that we put on the doorway of the room that they're in, and they are messy. Guess it won't be too much longer before they are gone though. Hope they find good homes!

So far it's an all kitty petting zoo. The crayfish and the goldfish don't want to participate!

Wow! What a handful but you sound like you are loving it. Would you like me to send you a parrot?

my blackie is like that.he tries to play with the youngest, and she wants no part of him.of course he is huge too,and a gigantic male rushing at you probably would scare a little one. sounds like she's being protective to a degree.some toms will kill kittens, and she probably doesn't trust him.

I'm sure thatthey will find good homes. All baby animals (kittens, puppies, etc) are in very high demand. We visited the humane society here in town the other day when we went to pick Cornbread up after he was neutered. They had some of the cutest kittens there and my son fell in love. Now, our neighbor has baby kittens and my daughter is begging me for one of them. There would be no doubt in my mind that they will find a loving home.

The little gray one will go first, no doubt. Black ones tend to stay longer. Hopefully they'll get adopted before they get too big!

I'm sorry you can't handle the cat situation, but removing them from the home (well some of them) will probably solve the conflict problems. Though its natural for mother cats to not like male cats too muchy especially if they think they may be a threat to their babies. Good luck on the cat hunt. er... home hunt.

We are handling it fine, but we do have to put Jason in another room when the babies are out...

Hey dawn! I would never make a good foster mama for kittens! I would never be able to let any of them go! I want a new baby so much! But, there's no way I can bring another kitty into my home with Luna(tic)! He would never accept another cat! He deals with his brother, but he is too aggressive to take a chance! So, I guess I will have to be happy with him and Star only! I loved it when they were kittens! Six years goes by fast!

Some cats just do not play well with others. For the most part, mine do, fortunately. But it does seem like Jason can't be trusted around the kittens. :-( It will be hard to give them up, especially Kit Kat.

If Mama Cat doesn't like Jason it's because she feels he's a threat to her kittens. Watch this situation closely because it could become violent.

yeah, kittens are only allowed out when somebody is watching them, otherwise they and mama are in Dearra's room with the door closed.

I have always said the cats are too wild for me but after having Lola in my life (my VERY WILD German shepheard), any cat is tamer that that dog. Be thankful that you have strenght to take care of the kitten. Lola almost killed me when I took ther out after my vacations. I discovered aching muscles in my body that didn´t know existed. The good thing about kitten is that they are SO clean. I´ve had very small kits that know exactly where´s the toilet. I bet these kitten will help you deal with your other problems as it helps you stop thinking while you make them behave. Please take care. A big hug!!!

Pretty soon kittens will be gone, but I'll enjoy them while they're here!
