hello friends... While writing during discussion or comments we use word "I" several times.. Have you ever noticed what you are writing... Whether you are writing it as capital alphabet of English of writing simply smaller one "i". I use both... Sometimes when it comes into my mind.. that I am writing smaller then I make it captial but while writing fast we do not consider to write bigger one or small one and simpley write i.. So which one myLotters ofter write i or I ? Thanks

hi Chdsandeep It is only proper grammar to capitalize I meaning myself and not put i in discussions.I have goofed on this a number of times but really I do try my best to capitalize it as it looks grammatically correct. It jars me when I see in my own discussins that I forgot to capitalize the'I's that I use.

Hello Hatley Sir Yes, it is correct grammar rule to use "I" instead of "i" but auto correction option is available on Microsoft office and other application so we have got habit to write small as it will be corrected by software itself.. Its my pleasure that you replied on my discussion Thanks Sir for your valuable response Have a great time Sir!!! Take care!!! Happy myLotting Sir!!!

Hi chdsandeep, I usually i will write capital I coz it is a single word, but if it comes in the middle then i will write "i". When i will start with I then i will write capital letter or else only i.

If you want to be proper about it we should always use the capital I. Really when used alone, it is never "i" but only improperly. It's the same thing with "A." When the letter is used alone like that it is to be used as a capital.

Its depends. The more formal way of course is using I. If I am going to put something into writing then I always use "I". We were always taught by our English teacher to always use "I" for I. But that has changed since I learned how to send text messages cause I use "i" for texting since that is informal.

Hello friend!! Yes, you are right... we are taught to write I as I in schools and it is the only correct way to write... As you said writing text messages, i.e. SMS, we often use i instead of I... yes that is also making our English poor... Thanks for your response dear Take care!! Have nice time!! Happy myLotting!!

I don't think that matters when you are writing some casual content. Well I personally use capital I even when writing casual content. I think that is grammatically correct. I am use to it now and I do it without being conscious about it.

I myself am disciplined to type with correct grammar, but I do not judge or misunderstand when people type "i" instead of "I".

I use "I". But there are times that I don't notice it that I use "i"... sometimes. I guess I just got used to it. You know... this is an interesting topic (in my opinion). It made me reflect on my actions.

I usually use both small and capital letter. WHenever I am in a hurry, I could use "i" instead of "I". But if I notice it, like you, I change it into a capital letter. I want to use "I" as much as possible because it is proper. And to also practice my writing, so I use and try to have correct usage of words and correct grammar.

It really doesn't matter as long as your message can be understood by the readers. Although gramatically speaking it is correct to use the capital "I" but it is understandable if anybody here uses the small "i" to refer to yourself since Mylot discussion is not really strict on grammar. As long as your message is clear then it is going to be just fine.
