I would just love to meet Larry. He always seems to be happy. Where on earth did this expression come from ? It's not the only expression that puzzles me but this one will do for now. Any responses serious or not will of course make me as happy as... you get the general idea.

Well if the pig is happy in mud, then good for him. Cant say rolling about in mud does much for me, although when I was young I always came home covered in mud after playing with friends. Everyone finds their own forms of enjoyment. Have fun...

Hi friend! I have heard "happy as a lark". Lark... Larry... UMMM!!! A bird can be happy all the time: they don´t have the problems we do. In this right moment I should be: 1. cleaning up my kitchen 2. making bed 3. checking if I have everything for a mushroom risotto I´ll make tonight for my cousin 4. discovering how to cook and put away an octopus I bought at the super yesterday (why did I buy it, I wonder?) 5. (And most difficult) Turn myself into a beautiful lady. This last thing is a must because my daughter comes for tea, I have a new student from 6 to 7 and my cousin comes for diner. NO! I don´t understand the term "Happy as a lark" or "Happy as Larry" Take care.

Hello, I'm not sure about birds being happy all the time because they have no worries or problems. 1) There are no shops for birds to buy food. 2) They have to live outside, no matter what the weather. 3) There is no school for them to attend, to learn to fly. It's not easy being 'as free as a bird'

..Maybe once upon a time there was a Larry who was happy most of the time. Who knows..?? But if possible, I would like to meet that Larry.. Anyway, we could all search for things to be happy about - Larry might like some company..!!

Well, I must leave you now as the big hand on the clock says 'bed' and the little hand says 'sleepy'. Have fun and remember to always take an umbrella to work, you just never know !
