Conversation Disappears

Don't you hate it when you write something nice or maybe even something brilliant and you click start discussion or post comment and then when you actually post it your whole discussion disappears? This has happened to me twice already and it is very discouraging and upsetting. It discourages me because I do not have 500 points for participation yet, so I cannot copy and paste. Maybe I should just hurry up and get 500 participation points so that I can copy everything I have, so that way if it goes away I still have a copied version of it.
Have any of you experienced this problem?? Do you think it's mozilla firefox or mylot that's doing it??

This happens to me occasionally. The answer, I find, is to be patient when presented with a blank page. Refresh the screen (F5). Firefox should respond that it must resend information and you tell it to do so. You may have to do this more than once but, whatever you do, DON'T hit the Back button. That will erase all the data that Firefox stored.

Oh okay that makes sense. I wish my internet connection were faster then!! Do you think that it is because of my virus protection program? I use AVG and I noticed that ever since I installed AVG that my computer is a little bit slower. I'll just make sure to copy everything I write, however tedious that is, it is still better than rewriting the whole thing all over again. =P

Yes, that happened to me several times and I don't think it has anything to do with our internet provider. I think it's a Mylot glitch. When this happens to me I really get exasperated and move on. I do not anymore bother to remember what I have said there and look for other discussions to respond instead. That can really be very frustrating.

Yes, I too get this sometimes..and it is annoying..But after I reached 500 posts , I didn't experience that still..I too started a discussion..

I have experienced this same problem! And ya, the first couple of times I did think it was maybe mylot. still not sure, funnny you mention it !! How ever I use explorer, so I don't think firefox"s technical difficulties have anythin to do w/.

That same thing happened to me yesterday!!! And it was a good long post so after that happened I was just too annoyed to repost all of it again so I just stopped there.

I have found that in Chrome, you can sometimes get your text back by using the back arrow. Doesn't work in Firefox.

It has happened to me a few times as I would be posting away, and all of a sudden, poof, my post would be gone before I had even finished it. I hate when that happens as I have to start all over, and try to remember what i had typed in the first place. One post, I was just finishing it up, when poof, it was gone. Talk about frustrating then, it sure was. It hasn't happened since, and I am glad of that. I will say though, that after I had submitted a response, instead of going to the tag page, it went to the home page, and I couldn't figure out why that happened. I did check though, and my post was there, but it sure was weird. Not sure if it was on my end or mylots bur so far so good today, and I hope it stays that way. good luck to you and happy mylotting.
