Well do it on my own all the time!!..I've never been to manicurist nor ask for someone's help to have it done.. I remember when I was just a child my grandmother usually do it for me and she never failed to cut it so short that almost all the time they bleed out..I think I'm so afraid that someone might do the same thing too until now.... Well but when it comes to my boyfriend I'm the one in charge for his nails all the time.. How about you guys do you personally cut your nails or let someone do the job???? Have a nice day to all..God Bless..

oh? another nail thing topic... well,i'm not fond of going to manicurist or something. i just want to cut my own nails instead. i once went to a manicurist because i have to attend a wedding. and it was the first time i got my nails colored. the first time also to bleed my nails. i don't like the thought of cutting the nails of someone,it's like they're being lazy.and i often cut my mother's nails for she has not enough energy to cut it herself.my 3yr.old niece of course,i do cut her nails, the way she liked it.

Hello there annavi..yeah another "interesting nail topic" I should say haha....Urgh I bet that really hurts!!! Oh I have no choice but to cut my boyfriend's overgrown nails..he told me that he will not cut it down until I do it.. he was just acting like a child to be pampered by me.. Thanks for sharing..Have a nice day..

When I was still young my mother is the one who's doing it for me. It's good thing that she's extra careful in doing it. Ow! poor nails of yours I might possibly not talk to my grandmother in a week for doing it to me. It's like a torture. haha... O well, Now that I have all the control for my body as a lady I do the cutting of nails. I can never do trust anybody to do that except my mother and myself. I was very careful and strict for some dirt on my feet because I want it to be always clean. When a manicurist accidentally made my feet or fingers bleed for cutting my nails. I might possibly be aggressive so in order to avoid that I do it myself I can save money by doing it too so that's it

Hello there eil_noz...wow I'm happy that your mom is very careful and not as reckless as my grandmother..(I just hope she won't read this) Yeah she kept on cutting one after the other..so the injury and the torture was horribly never ending.. That's why I don't trust anyone not even professionals!!! Be careful not to accidentally kick or slap someone it they made your nails bleed though.. Thanks for sharing and have a very nice day..

I might definitely not do it accidentally but on purpose if it happens to me though. And then I'll say sorry even if I don't really mean it. LOL

I remember when I first got married and my mother-in-law was shocked that I didn't cut my husband's toenails for him. I've always done my own too. But now I've got this dang psoriasis in my nails, and I have this one toenail that I sometimes need help with. Getting old is such fun!

My mother-in-law was still doing her husband's nails, and her children's too as long as they lived with her. Oh well, their family, not mine. Yeah, you can get psoriasis wherever you have skin, and having it under the nails is not all that uncommon.

The majority of the times I do it myself. I have to cut them at least every week because they grow so fast. I moved from New York to New Mexico and in NM they grow so much faster then in New York. I guess its because of the lack of humidity in New Mexico. Once in a blue moon I will go to a nail salon and get a manicure and pedicure.

i personally cut my own nails if i saw them long enough, i hate to have long nails and im not comfortable with it and sometimes i let the manicurist do it specially while i still have my job coz i still have money to pay and since im too busy and too lazy and tired cleaning my own nails. though i can relate to you but mine is my hair, when it comes to my hair i dont want unprofessional to cut it, as i used to had a bad experience when i was a child when a gay cut my hair as he said his professional, he went house to house to cut someones hair with pay of course, and after he cut mine i really cried coz its ugly and all my friends are laughing at me, so since then even when i was still a child, my mother always bring me to professionals just to cut my hair.

Hello there homeshoppers..oh yeah I remember having one of those ugly haircuts before too!! my parents never let me have long hair when I was a child so I'm really prone to those unkind beautician who murdered my hair....but now it's different I wear my hair long and let the professional do the job.. You are lucky not to be sensitive with your nails I should say.. Thanks for sharing have a nice day..

Hi there pabreen..I also got that huge trauma hahahaha..I think when you have experienced an extreme pain with it then you'll always think twice of letting other people touch them again..it's hard to pick a good manicurist by just looking at that person haha so you need a huge luck with that..and yeah be very careful next time.. Thanks for sharing..and have a nice day..

I had my toenails cut by a manicurist once but I got hurt, since then I never allowed my nails cut by anybody. I do it myself so that I'll be more careful.

I cut my own nails. I've never been to a manicurist, nor am I interested in going to one. However, like you, my grandmother would do it for me sometimes when I was growing up. Fortunately for me she never made them bleed. Otherwise I think I would have freaked! LOL Happy mylotting!

Hello there sacmom..oh yeah me too I'm not really looking forward to visit a manicurist but I'll give hand massage a try.. Oh yeah I remember that I was really crying and freaking out everytime but my grandmother has this attitude of "it's alright honey they 're just bleeding nothing serious".. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day..

Hi khaezi! I always did my nails since I was very young! I learned how to shape them, polish them and take great care of them! I always had long and strong nails all my life and never went to a manicurist except for one time when one of my girlfriends got me that as a birthday gift! I hated it because, like you I didn't like anyone touching my nails! But, for some strange reason about two years ago my nails started to split and won't grow anymore! It is very upsetting for me because I always had the "perfect" nails! I think it is a "getting old" thing! Oh well! I still keep them polished!

Hello there opal!!! Me too I became independent with my nails at a very young age well thanks to my grandmother**urgh**.. For me it's seasonal maybe because it depends on the food that I'm eating for that specific period..right now I feel like there are stronger than the last batch haha..well I just had to wear band aid last time because the damage reached the flesh part.... Yeah I guess age has something to do with it as well..try taking fish oil supplement for stronger nails..hope that it works.. Thanks for sharing..have a nice day..

I usually cut my own. In fact I just did it today. I have to keep them short. I have something wrong with me and my nais are weak and split a lot. I like to cut them outside in the summer so if I make a mess I don't have to clean it up. I usually wear clear polish or no polish at all. The clear kind I wear is supposed to make them stronger but I don't notice any improvements.

I always cut my own nails. I have never been to a manicurist. Even my wife has to force me just so she can cut my nails. i can trust a barber to use razor blades but there's just no way i can let anybody cut my nails.

It used to be barber in my childhood but now I do it myself. I got nail cutter and that makes it easy to cut your nails without any problem. I see some peoples cutting their nails by teeh which is such a bad practice.

Same as you I cut my nails on my own. I've never let someone do it for me for the same reason as yours. I'm scared my toenails might get murdered. Sometimes some of my friends would tell and even show me what happened to their toenails after they had a manicure and pedicure. They end up with a swollen toe. They can't wear a shoe. I don't remove my cuticle also. I just simply cut and clean my nails and that's it. If ever I'd have a manicure or pedicure I'd never allow that person to remove my cuticle.

Hi Ladyslipper!!Hope you're doing great!! You know what I don't have that ingrown thing maybe because I don't dig my toenails deeply when cleaning but I have this teacher of mine when I was in grade school whose one toenail got murdered! it has been swollen for weeks so she had no choice but to undergo a surgery so it's not just a simple matter when neglected.. Good decision just coloring and massage will do just to be safe haha.. God Bless you always my friend..

I always cut my own nails. I've had boyfriends in the past who would let me cut their toe nails. I can't stand having fingernails that are long. The moment they start to grow passed my skin, I cut them so no more white shows.

Hello there lindsiko..oh I remember cutting my boyfriend's toenails before but I stopped immediately because I don't have enough force to cut them all haha I have to use both of my hands just to accomplish a single cut!!! So right now I'm just focused solely with his fingernails I grow my nails not too short yet not too long as well..I know that uneasy and sometimes painful sensation when they grow deep into my skin I cut them too right away.. Thanks for sharing..have a nice day

Most of the time I cut my nails for myself. Occasionally I will go out to have my nails polished because it makes my nails beautiful and it is very comfortable. When I was pregnant, I would ask my husband to cut my foot nails because I couldn't do it myself because of my big belly:) I love China

I always cut my own nails. I never really like putting nail polish on my fingernails but I like putting on my toenails. I rarely go to the manicurist or pedicurist because I can do it my own even if I am not a professional. I never cut anyone's nails but I have tried once with my husband. He loves cutting his own nails too so I just mind my own. Oh I remember I am the one cutting our son's nails. He is just 1 year and 7 months old so he can't do it yet.

I love having my nails done by someone else. For me, a trip to the salon for a manicure and pedicure is a stress reliever. I especially love it when the manicurist gives my hands and feet a quick massage. Sometimes, though, I cut my nails when I don't have time to go to the salon, or when I give my nails a rest from nail polish.
