Are You Quick to Yell Scam or Do You Do Your Research ?

So many people are complaining that they have been scammed by ptc sites. Unfortunately, there are a lot of scam ptc's out there. But I've also noticed that many people have developed "scamophobia", that is, they are quick to accuse a site of being a scam for the simple reason that they either heard about it or read about it from someone else. Do you find yourself doing that or do you do some criteria based research and then decide ? I prefer to do the latter rather then depend on hearsay. For example, one of the "scam indicators" that I use is to check out the forums to find what other members are saying about the site, specifically, in regards to timely payments, administrator's response to problems, members general impression about the site, if members suggestion's are allowed, etc. Again, how do you handle this situation ? If you have any "scam indicators" that you use, please share as we can all benefit. Thanks in advance for your input.

I have been doing this for 10 years. So yes of course I do my homework. I have built a very loyal referral base over the years...they know I do my research. You can't rely on payment proofs...they mean nothing to me as they can be faked or copied. Sure programs can close their doors at any given moment...but if you do your research it won't happen that often to you. I prefer to increase my earnings, not chase them. There are many discussions here that tackle the topic of what to look for before joining a program.

I do research. I do type and search this site and open those links that provide some information that specific site is a scam. I read and analyze it further. Like readbud, there are so many blogs that we can read and rate from the start of our browsing, but once we are near to the minimum payment the article's rate became smaller and when we reach the payment we can't no longer see the site. When I started to research about readbud, and everyone has the same remarks about it so I did not continue visiting the site . That is the only indication I have.

Unless I am absolutely certain, I will never yell scam at my first impressions. I will take notice of my intuition though, but research it very carefully before taking any sort of action. _Derek

Hello, I am usually quite good at spotting scams, they usually make unbelievable claims about how much money you can make in such a short period of time, 'get rich quick schemes' . If it was so easy then they would not need or want to tell others, just earn the money themselves. Sometimes I will dig a bit deeper an investigate certain claims but normally 9 times out of 10 they amount to nothing.

Hi Haddowz: I can't agree more than you. You can't beleive in everything they say on the internet. If they win the amounts of money they usually claim, why do they want your money? Why do they need to sell their "secret". It makes no sense and there's only a reason: because they want to scam people. So it's always good to be a litle skeptical. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. ALVARO.

I always do my research but some are just so obvious that is really not necessary.

Looks like you have hit on just about all of the indicators I use as well. I also don't jump right to "scam" when I have issues with a site. I prefer to give out correct information so I will give a site some time to make things right before I scream Scam from the mountaintops. And if I went into a program that I felt might be a scam but I wanted to try it out, I won't yell scam at all. If I thought it might be but took my own chances anyway, then I feel like I got what I deserved.

I will definitely do my fair share or research before I will even join a site. Then, once I am a member at a site I will keep researching it to make sure that people are still getting their payments as they expect to get them. I've been lucky so far in that I haven't gotten involved in a site that has turned scam. I just hope that my luck in this area is able to continue because I absolutely hate to waste my time.
