Have you experienced waiting and craving for the release of a new movie youre looking forward to watch, then when you finally watched it, It failed your expectations? I think this really happens rarely since all the movie makers and companies are good in their job. Well the movie that failed my expectations was Dragon Ball Evolution, since i am a very good fan of the anime, the movie was not i was expecting, there were few changes.

A lot of times brylle :) I am a gamer so I also tend to watch movies that is based on a video games. But most of this movies turns out to be very bad. Some of these are Max Payne, Resident Evil, Hitman, Alone in the Dark, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and ofcourse the famous Super Mario Bros. that sucks big time. The last movie that I had a big expection is The Legion. I watched the trailer and it was great, I thought that the movie will be good but to my dismay it sucks big time.

That certainly proves that movie makers cant really make a good movie out of video games and animes, well i guess its their challenge. If i were one of the movie makers or producers, i would rather make a 3d movie, like what they did on Final Fantasy

there are a lot of movies that kinda disappointed my expectations. to name one, the Twilight Saga. i know, i know...a lot love the films. a lot fell in love with the film. but it was just marketed too well, but the quality of the film does not really impress me much. sorry. but there are some films that will surprise you. due to publicity, some good movies do not crossoverto different viewers because of lack of awareness.

I also have some friends that are addicted to the Twilight Saga, the books though, they say that the movies, although the casting is quite great, can cope up or isnt good as the book. Well i guess thats just the fate of some books-turned-movies or anime-turned-movies.

Well there were so many. One of them was a recent Hindi movie called Kites. It was horrendous. I could have jumped down the top floor of theatre, it was that bad. The other was Remember Me as I was disappointed with the way they ended the movie.

yes, I recently watched a movie on cable that I hadn't heard of before but the description the company provided made it seem like it would be one I would enjoy, sadly, it wasn't. (I liked Dragon Ball Evolution but didn't like how little Goku ate:))

I guess there's too many to mention. A few of them are Dragon Ball Evolution as you mentioned, Street Fighter-Chun Li and the Valentine's Day Movie. Those three movies are on top of my list as of now.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I like Kate Winslet and I like Jim Carrey when he's doing serious movies, so I was really looking forward to it. But, I found the movie too weird. I didn't enjoy it at all.

Oh yes... Many, many, many movies has failed to come up to my expectation! I can recall watching a movie through to the bitter end hoping that it would get more interesting or something wonderful would happen only to find out it ended in the same way it began... incredibly dull and boring! _Derek

I haven't seen a movie in about 10 years that was worth the time I spent watching it. They just don't make them like they used to.

It happens all the time for me. That's why I would not risk going to the movie theaters unless the movie that I was planning to watch had rave reviews. Its not that I have high expectations but Im just slightly close fisted with my cash. My mentality on movies is that why pay for a hefty price at the theaters when Im just gonna watch it on cable. I dont mind the wait. Most especially when I have a feeling that the movie was really not worth watching in theaters. In another aspect, these kinds of movies would be the horror genre. I dont really have expectations for movies unless Im really interested in it. So, being a fan of the horror movie genre I would like the movie to deliver "horror" and not "blood and gore being passed off as horror". With this regard, I almost always expect a horror movie to flop so I just watch it on cable or rent it. Though I gotta say that there are just those rare gems of horror movies that did deliver true horror for me. Not those movies that looked like a cheap, lame, effort in giving "horror" to the viewers. I guess when you're a "fan" of something, and there's an adaptation about it, you have set your own expectations and with most adaptations, its just really not as good as the original, in most cases anyway. And that's just what I think.^_^

There was this movie,... I was with my friends, and there's nothing else to watch.. we saw it.. and since the main character was Ashley Judd,I told my friends we should watch it because that actress is famous and good... And after watching it.. we were like... WHAT WAS THAT? We couldnt figure out what the movie was about... and it was a waste of money....

YYes I have indeed watched several movies that have failed my expectations. So many as a matter of fact. Now the most recent one is the movie Law Abiding Citizen featuring Jamie Fox. I was really told that this film was the best. The adverts on tv about this film were so overatted and I really thought this film was "the man" Butt when I finally purchased it and watched it I was really really disappointed. It wasn't what I expected.

i tend to think that trailers over hype the actual movie.....who has watched a movie that has lived up to the hype of its trailer??? one movie that i got all hyped about was the LEGION. but once i got to watch it, i found the theme to be quite weak and the story line did not make any sense.....

Too many to mention but one that stands out is Anita and Me- a British release which disappointed me as it is an adaptation of one of my favourite books and it was awful.

Blood the last vampire. They could have done sooo much better there. Punch drunk love = possibly the worst film I have ever encountered. It was very annoying to watch and listen to. I did not even bother watching the rest of it or I might have ripped my own brain out. I usually love Adam Sandler movies but I'll have to smack the man if he ever does something that horrible again.

MANY TIMES I think the most memorable was the 'Flowers in the Attic' film. When I read the book I adored it, I stayed up until I finished it I couldn't put it down. When I saw a film had been made of the book I was really pleased, how disappointing. It was completely different from the book and with no atmosphere ate all

I agree. Maybe because the movie have a short time period than a several series which is well descriptive and well blended to the story. Here in movies, since we are aware of the story since we already watch the anime. We expect a lot of things because its finally on the big screen. In movie, they try to cut every detail because they tend to finish the movie. Otherwise their movie will not be a hit.

A god. Another movie I completely forgot about that I can't believe I did was Daybreakers which came out at the beginning of the year. It had an awesome, unique concept for a vampire story and the trailer looked amazing. The end product wasn't so awesome though. There was so much that they could have done with it, but seeing the movie made me realize that it was a concept that couldn't really be played out to it's full potential in a film. It probably would have worked better as a television series in all honesty.
