I have! I have had two over the years! The first one was Oreo and second was Travis. They make good pets and don't cost much! You sometimes can adopt them form the Humane Society like I did with Oreo! I wish I could have one again but my landlord doesn't allow animals were I live!

That's too bad that you can't have pets. Guinea pigs really would not cause any damage at all or bother the neighbors. I've had a few guinea pigs as pets over the years and you are right....they are great pets. And oh so cute and cuddly. I especially like the long-haired ones. The last one I had was when my girls were all very young and I was pregnant with my youngest daughter. I kept her cage near where I slept at night. You know that little sqeaking sound that they make? Well, this guinea pig squeaked a lot. When my daughter was born, she would make that same squeak sound. She sound just like the guinea pig and so much so that a lot of times we could not tell if it was her or the pig!

I wish I could have a guinea pig where I live! The last place I live I was able to! They are good pets and don't bother alot of people. A guinea pig is not very expensive to keep either! Thank you for the great story of you daughter and her squeaking! That is really cute!

I have a cat named Oreo. I haven't had a guinea pig since I was a child. His name was squeak, and I don't really remember that much about him.

I suspect that squeak suffered a similar fate, except from heat...

I never had a guinea pig. My aunt did though she had a few of them and I spent a lot of time at her house so whenever I was there I got a chance to play with them and take care of them. I thought they were pretty interesting. I just hated all the noise they made because I wasn't use to it especially when I was trying to sleep.

Guinea Pigs are interesting but they sure do squeak alot! Especially when they are hungry! I remember them moving around alot and squeaking when I tried to sleep! The most annoying noise is when I heard them drink out of their water bottle! I could hear the bottle banging on the side of the aquarium when they drank!

Never have one but used to play with my friends who has them. Feel more familiar playing with cats or dogs. Yes, taking care of guinea pigs don't cost much but you can hardly take them out for walks or run after them.

You are right! Gunia Pigs don't need to be walked or ran after! You also don't have to make sure they go outside to go to the bathroom! Guinea Pigs you can hold and cuddle! They aren't as fun playing with cats and dogs are! They are not hard to clean up after either! I cleaned their "home" put every day.

I used to have a guinea pig when I was a child. His name was Max. He didn't get very old, and everyone was very sad, so we didn't get a new one. We got a dog and a cat instead :)

No, I've never had a guinea pig. I've heard that they make great pets though! I might get one in the future for my youngest. As for now I'm going to continue learning more about them. Happy mylotting!

Hi Blue, At this moment in time I have two guinea pigs, both male, Badger and Dave. They were both adopted as no one else wanted them bless and Dave had been attacked by another male so has a nasty scar on his black bless. They are such characters and I love them to bits. I have a bit of a zoo as have two cats, two guinea pigs, five rabbits and tanks of both tropical and cold water fish plus a pond. I have become known locally as the rescue centre but I don't mind they are all great with their own little characters bless. Huggles. Ellie :D

I wish I could get another Guinea Pig but where I live I can't have pets! It sucks! If not a guinea pig at least a cat or a dog! Anyway I like the names Cheese and Cookie! Great names for your future guinea pigs!

My first Guinea Pig was black and white hense the name Oreo! She was a short. My second Guinea Pig was Travis and he was brown and white. He had long hair but not extemely long hair like some Guines Pigs! I fed mine pellets and grass mostly. Once in awhile I let them eat carrots.
