Hello there mylotters.. I just came across with this quote so I thought of asking you guys about this... So, do you believe that Beauty is in the eye of the beholder? For me, I do believe. There are certain things here in our world that sometimes we judge or criticize. We say "That's gorgeous!" or "That can be considered as cosmetically-challenged..." But since all of us have different perspective or point of view of the things we see... Sometimes, we can't help but argue with matters concerning this. Especially when it comes to beauty.. An abstract painting can be very wonderful and realistic for someone, but for me, i may not like it, coz i dont understand. Mona Lisa can be very gorgeous for an artistic person but for a heavy metal music listener, it might be disgusting or something.. So, In my opinion, beauty also depends on how you see things and what kind of person you are.. So, How about you? Share your thoughts.. :D Have a nice day to all!

Yes, I am in agreement with you. We all have different tastes and like different things. For example, I love pet rats and think they are beautiful animals. I am happy to cuddle rats and let them sit on my shoulder, but others hate them and are scared of them. Many people think famous actors like Brad Pitt are attractive, but I don't think he is my type at all, so I do not admire him that way.

Ah, you can keep the ant's eggs, I'm vegetarian!! I have quite an unconventional taste in men, I guess, I like lots of different types. I like David Tennant, John Partridge, Colin Baker, Matt Smith, Nitin Ganatra - so different races, heights, builds, ages...

Yes definitely so…otherwise most of us would remain unattached for life LOL On material things too, yes we are all individuals with our own identity and likes and dislikes…similarly, our idea of beauty is also unique to each one of us. We may follow certain genres but that also coz we find that particular style beautiful.

I think that there are alot of people that are pretty on the inside yet ugly to look at and then there are the other types that are pretty on the outside but a really nasty person on the inside then there are people that are both.Everyone has different tastes in things so it is each to their own.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We do not all perceive beauty in the same ways. What may be unattractive to someome, but be found beautiful by others. Beauty is what you believe.

Definitely. If we all agree on what beauty is, there will not be anyone left on earth. We will all be going for that one beauty. My husband thinks I am the best thing ever on earth (please don't tell him that he's wrong, I am enjoying it) same way that I think he is the best thing on earth. I am sure most of the people will not agree with him or me, for that matter.

Abstract things don't share a common definition. Yes, its true that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I have seen people in love, with people who are difficult to tolerate. lol! So, its perfectly true.

Well, it just all boils down to 'different strokes for different folks' or 'to each his own'. What is pretty for one person might be ugly for the other person. And no matter how goodlooking that person might be, there will be at least one person that will disagree. Like my friend, she told me that she doesnt find penelope cruz pretty. And to think penelope is a very pretty lady. It just sums up to the personal taste of the person, really.

I agree with this statement. There are times that we find ourselves ugly but for some others we look good for them. Sometimes, someone will tell that you dont look good and some would say you are good... But n0 matter what other people says, i think its important on what you think of yourself. If you value yourself and you know who and what you are then you will see the true beauty in you,.

Indeed! There are things that are good to us but look ugly to others it's because everyone has a different perspective in life. We do see things differently as to our preferences.

For me to be able to tell if a person is beautiful, I don't look at the physical aspect. For me a person girl or boy is beautiful if he/she has a winning personality. And yes, I believe that beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, so behold!!! Just kidding!! =)

The quote definitely speaks truth. One person who I may perceive as amazingly attractive may be seen by someone else as horribly ugly. What one person is attracted to is completely different from what another person may be attracted to. It's all a matter of taste. It's a quote that gives hope because it lets people know that there is someone who will find them beautiful.

Oh, yes. I firmly believe that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Let's think of a most typical example. When I was in college, there was such a girl living in the next room. She has neither beauty nor sexy body. Or rather, she's too fat and ugly in our girls' eyes. But the surprising thing was she had a very handsome boyfriend who loved her so much. Whenever we saw them together, we began to wonder what it was about her that attracted him so much. Perhaps the only explanation for his attachment to her is that there's no accounting for taste.

I do believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I went to a very judgmental high school, and everyone was judged on looks, which is ridiculous. I will admit I even judged a few people but when I got to know them they were great. I see it like this: The most gorgeous person can be found ugly by what they do and act, I dont think those people are good lucking at all. something in my brain just starts to make them look bad. On the other hand some one who may not be that great looking could be the best person you will ever meet and they tend to actually look better to me the more I know them. I know I have a weird way of looking at things sometimes.

i do believe it..in the form of a person's look..like some girls look..they vary and everyone has their own speciality..a perfect look of a model is what we want to SEE...of course anybody would crave for such perfect features..in a form of painting or artistic..i do think that the artist has a different way to look at the painting..maybe if we think that it is just colours being smeared on a canvas..by maybe we will be wurpised if it is made by van goh or leonardo da vincci..

i do believe on that saying because for me beauty can be seen not just outside but most important is the inside character of a person. beuaty is not just how you look personaly, but you can tell and see the real beauty that comes from the inner personality to anyone in this world. beauty always matter how a peson show by actions not on how beautiful and pretty she/he looks. age and looks really doesnt matter at all to me. but good character is a plus points when it comes to beauty

Absolutely. Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone appreciates the same things and this goes for beauty as well. Beauty is all around us, in nature, art, music, people, but we all have our own idea of what we find pleasing. Have you ever seen a child that was "homely"? It happens, but you can bet his mama thinks he's beautiful. Love is blind and beauty is in the eye of the eye of the beholder.
