although paypal claim to be safe, and the majority of the time they are... i have to say that this is not always the case, and i have had money taken without knowing on 2 occasions... luckily i managed to prove this was not me, but others have not been so lucky... you can get a security key to log in to your account, which will stop people from getting in... please view my discussions that I started and you will find the info in that to show you step by step how to do this.... my account has actually been closed because it was hacked into so many times, that paypal closed it, they said for security but it has annoyed me because they dont delete your card or bank details, and you can never open one up in your name again.. it sucks, as i cant buy anything from ebay yet, until i find another way

I called PayPal earlier because I found out that I have a limited access to my account and I have received a message that said that someone is trying to access my account that's why they need to like quarantine it for my safety and after the call my account was back to normal. I learned from the lady who received my call that there are lots of people who hates PayPal and destroy their credibility but she assured me that all details they have from all their customers are safe but of course we need to be careful though since there are instances that scammers and hackers are knowledgeable enough to steal some of our details. If you want, you can call PayPal and ask them, I think they would be friendly enough to answer your questions and it would be no harm since you are just trying to make sure that you are on the safe side.

Yes, giving someone your credit card number and information can result in having some money taken. However, with Paypal, it is safe to give them your credit card number as they do not give that number to anyone else. They alone withdraw the money from your card and pass it to the other party. BEWARE: Make sure you are on the legitimate Paypal site. There are phishing sites that may try to get you to login, thereby giving them your Paypal password. Make sure the site starts out "https://paypal.com/" NOT something like "http://paypal.com.stealyourmoney.com/"

paypal is safe. it was invented as a safeway to pay or send money on the internet. paypal does charge a very small fee for the amount of money people send but i assure you its safe. thats why so many sites have it as an alternative for buying on their site if you don't feel comfortable typing in your credit card number.

It's better to use your bank account without money in it maybe a coins or 1 buck only than credit card with paypal. Paypal I think is very secure in a way that paying and buying is a good way to use.
