I just read an article that said that cycling is a good workout for the whole body. http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/bicycle-fitness?cm_mmc=AD_Newsletter-_-2010_May_24-_-Abs_Diet-_-bicyclingbonuses I was wondering if you agree and also whether you think a stationary bike is good or would it be better to get a real bike and one of those stands that it sits on to ride without going anywhere. I don't really have alot of room, so I am hoping that a small stationary one would be sufficient.

Whatever better suits your needs. if you want the option of taking the bike outside, and trekking around in the fresh air, get a real bike and a stand for it. If you only want to use it inside, Stationary would be the way to go. I'm more of an outdoor person when it comes to exercise, so I'd probably end up buying a real bike.

I have a stationary bike. A couple of my doctors have told me that is the best possible workout. Besides walking, it is also the only exercise my doctors will let me do. I've had surgeries on my back and neck, so they limit me in what I'm "allowed" to do. But it gets the heart rate up so well also.

I was looking at the Target website to see the different kinds of exercise bikes. Some seem to have arm things that move too. I suppose that is better so your arms get some work too. What do you think? What kind do you have?

Personally, I get very bored on a stationary bike. But at least there are no dogs chasing it! The only indoor sporting equipment I habitually use would be my mini-trampoline and yoga ball.

Select an exercise pattern to suit your life style. All of us have different life styles and professions so there is no sense in trying to follow the book strictly. Try and follow an exercise routine that is suitable for you. You have to understand that even more important than the exercise it is sticking to it. So unless you choose something that can suit your life style, you are not going to stick on to it.

I have heard good things about those cycling classes I hear they are awesome. As for what kind of bike to get Stationary or a bike you ride outside I agree with a lot of you about both. I don't have a stationary bike but I have a bike I can ride outside but right now can't ride it because of crazy rain where I am at. I love riding bike especially in the summer.
