Oh I can think of a bunch, unfortunately they can't be printed on this page, when it freezes, you get a blue screen, it just sits there and does nothing. Or it shuts down right at the moment you are finishing a application and you have to start over. LOL

Yes, I was brought up not to swear, too. But the first swearing and curing and foul language I used were when I had a computer at my first job that had computers. Of course, I was looking for vocabulary more in keeping with what I listed on top, but your point is well taken.

That was supposed to be cursing, not curing.

IM and PM come to mind as well as abbreviating words like, ROTFL,LOL,OMG,IDK...ETC... Also when I didn't have a computer but use my husband cell to get into my mail, I used the texting writing, brb,ttyl,l8r...I hated it because i am a speller and feel I have to spell every word out and correctly..

I don't like to text either, but when you have no computer, it was all I had..

I don't text. Some fool was texting the f word to me on my cell phone for a while. I ignored him and he hasn't been back.

Glitch, referral, upline, downline, troll, OP and avatar are the first words that come to mind when I read your discussion. It is funny because words like that have become a normal part of my vocabulary, I never think about it, I just use them. 5 years ago I joined an online forum for the first time, and I remember how confusing it was. I had to learn new words like post, thread, moderator, avatar and emoticon. Some of the senior members used a lot of abbreviations that I didn't know, they didn't write the names of the different categories, they had created their own abbreviations and nicknames, and it was very confusing

referals I new from sales and moderator, I knew from being on panels. But all those others, esp how they use troll is different or new. I still don't know what OP is? Yes, so many have become normal. Every time I join something new, it seems like there are a lot of new vocab words. I haven't been on any that use very many abbreviations.

I think win-win and meaningless were here before computers and the internet or would have been here anyway.
