One of my friends on MyLot has informed me that my last two discussions are against the rules. NOT MyLot rules, but another agency. I have asked MyLot to take them down so that I will not get in trouble with this other agency. I will revise what I have said. I am training and will not be here much. I am working a temporary job. Thanks to everyone who responded, I am very sorry that I had to do this.

Oh, I sure will remember. I try to always be loyal to my friends. When this other friend explained that she had been warned I really appreciated it. I just thought some of what I had to say was helpful, really.

Thanks, it is a bummer for you guys and for me as well cause I had commented on everyone, and that is a lot of posts. I also thought I was providing a service in a way.

I can glean from your discussion what you're talking about. That's really against the rules? If it is, it's kind of stupid.

Not against Mylot, but against the agency. I think in part it is because some people would not be intelligent enough not to share personally identifiable information or "job secrets". It is also because I am getting paid here, as well as by that agency. Big politicians can double dip, but not jill ordinary.

Right, I it was the agency in question I was talking about. I still think it's a stupid rule! I hope that all goes well, Heather. I really hope no one gives you trouble.

Awww, that's too bad hon, but don't even worry about it, it's no biggie. I still don't think it was such a big deal mentioning it anyways, so many rules all the time, bah! Good luck though in your new position! Keep in touch!

I will enjoy it while it lasts. We are in another one of those financial "Life happens" situations, and I will post about it soon. I am fortunate to have a little bit of work while life is happening to me.

I'm sorry Gerty that this happened to you, but if you didn't know than I wouldn't worry to much about it. But who has rules here, other than MYLOT? Do you care if I ask which discussions they were?

I guess that I did not see those posts, as I did not notice anything that could get you in trouble. Good luck with your training.

I know the agency you're talking about I also got a notice via mail about getting paid for writing about that agency while you are an employee (as well as disclosing personally identifying information in your posts, which I know you did not). I was writing on Gather and I took down all my articles about that agency that I had written after I had started working there. Luckily, I didn't write that many and I technically did not earn any money. And, I didn't write anything that was not already known in the public. You can still blog or talk about your work in a public forum as long as you are not talking about information that is not generally known to the public or personally identifies anyone you may have interviewed and you do not get paid for your writing. That's how I understand it.

This notice was a "general notice" and not meant to single out anyone in particular. I took them down from Gather just to be safe.

Mostly I didn't write about my work there because I was so busy and there really wasn't anything to report. The job was the way that other people had told me, nothing really special. I'd rather write about killdeers, lol.

That is pretty much how my other friend explained it. I wondered why I did not hear any more on Gather about your work. It is a just in case. I actually thought I was helping clear some stuff up for a member or two. The problem is that I do get paid here.

Yeah, take a government job and you see what you get, even if it is temporary. I actually thought it was interesting to hear about other countries and also to encourage people here.

hi gardengerty I have never seen any discussion of yours that I could see break mylot rules and any other rules, by the way what other rules? what agency if you can answer? I am sorry you have to revise, and am puzzled as you are seasoned vet here and not a rule breaker,is this a religious thing?

Nope, not religious. This is one of the discussions, cause it is about the government. Someone else was warned by them, and she passed it on to me.

i think i also responded to one of them. as you know, i only respond to those i am interested or to that i can relate to. just like your census topic. and it's kinda on time, as it is already happening here. well, sometimes, even how much careful we are in starting our discussions, we simply just can't avoid mistakes. sorry to hear that.

I never have known you to do anything against the rules, GG, and you've been here longer than I have. I guess we all tend to go against the rules sometimes because we forget certain ones. I sure am sorry about all this. I always enjoyed your discussions. We sure are going to miss you here. At the same time, I hope you enjoy your temporary job.
