... recently the school had asked that parents of the girls did not dress their daughters in bra's, if they have not developed yet.... which I guess is fair enough... anyway after talking to a friend of mine who has a daughter in my son's class, she told me why the school had brought up this subject... and I have to say I am indeed shocked... the reason was because one of the mothers, had let her daughter who had not developed yet, to go to school wearing a padded bra, to make it look like she had something to show... I will just add at this point that the girl in question has only just turned 9... I am quite shocked that a mother could allow this. It was of course the mothers choice... she had bought the Bra for her daughter, and she had wanted her daughter to go to school like this. But why would she do this... I understand a girl wearing training bras, or sports bras at this age, but a padded one???? What do you think on this?

what trauma the girl might have been in? .... at such a tender age? .. I presume, the mother involved might be working in some SHOW-business. But, forget about this incident in school.. would you approve of that behavior, if you find one such mother, prodding and nagging her 9year old girl... for that dress.. if she was to participate in a social gathering?.... we in INDIA, had recently a legal case, where the SUPREME COURT had to pass a judgement, BANNING the pressure of PARENTS and all concerned, .. from showing off their kids.. who are of very tender age... in the name of REALITY SHOWS.. one gets shocked at the levels the parents are stooping down, just to get some attention and movie chances... it is better, we walk naked !!!

Thankyou for the pencil. and, my inadvertent statement.. "just pass on!" ... IS just to make you feel comfortable. I wanted you to FORGET the incident. It is not to mean that you have to pass the trouble to someone. I am sorry for the confusion,.

No confusion... you are indeed right... I should not let this woman bother me, but i guess it is one of those things that just aggrevates me sometimes, I just feel sorry for the child

That's kind of weird. I mean bras were invented for protection of one of woman's vital and sensitive body parts. I'm not sure if the reason the mother let her daughter go to school wearing padded bra is to make an impression that the daughter is a grown lady with already developed mammary glands. For me this is kind of an absurd idea. I really can't understand what's her purpose.

Hi Rosie, I think this is terrible of the mother to allow, kids grow up too quickly as it is an there are some very sick people out there that prey on young girls. I think the mother ought to go back to school to be educated in LIFE. I agree a bra type vest fine as girls begin to get modest at this age in changing rooms etc but NOT padded breas at age 9, ridiculous. However I also think the school is wrong in asking parents not to as some girls this age do indeed need a bra. Huggles. Ellie :D
