Do you believe in homework does it really help us? What's the point of it? I think homework does help us learn but what is the point of it we spend most of our childhood at school then you give us homework?! how are we suppose to enjoy our childhood like you always told us to!?!???!?!!!? We spend 7 hours in school then we have to go home and spend another 1 or 2 or 3 and sometimes even 4 hours at home doing homework?!??!?!?!?!!?!? SO you think this is reasonable??!?!?!?!?!??!??!?!?!? leave a comment of what you think of homework and how long it takes for you to do it. Is your homework hard? Are you the mother or father of a child that loves homework or is way too stressed about homework? Please share your feelings with the rest of us! We don't bite! :) :P xP lol

I think homework do help a student to some extend because homework allows the student to have practice and to learn rapidly too however I also know some students who never does homework and yet got good grades, They take tuitions a lot though.

I totally agree with you. Homework is a tool used to reiterate what was learned at school. Sometimes children need a little extra time to learn work if they are learning something new or if it is difficult or confusing. Others do not need to do their homework at all and still excel. These naturally bright students are lucky. I myself never had to do homework or even really study. I felt bad for those who struggled because it came so easy to me. I believe in homework strongly for those that need the practice.

When I was teaching in the university, I had students who were not really very bright but they always passed their homework. They dont usually pass in the quizzes but computing for their final grade helped the pass when the homework was considered. Homework is 10 % of your grade so if you do all of it then you only have a few points to work out for.

As a recent graduate from college with a degree in Elementary EDucation I must say that homework is necessary because it helps reinforce what the child is learning in school. It helps a student apply what they had learned in class and be able to do things on their own. Each grade level builds on each other. The more knowledge a child has the more successful they will become. It is the teachr's job to teach the students while they are in school, however, parents should take the responsibility to help their child (not do their homework for them because doing it for them does not teach them anything). Homework also gives the teacher an idea if the students need any additional help in a certain subject. Parents could help their children do well in school if they set a learning environment where there are very few distractions and set a time when the homework needs to be started.

Homework is good for us. But it seems like your not enjoying them. Try watching TV or doing a group study while doing your homework so you could still enjoy your childhood and at the same time, you are learning.

I don't think is effective because most student just copy the answer or ask someone to do it for them. If they actually do it then it might be helpful but they are giving too much work to the child that they might no digest all of those that they are teaching.

yea i believe that too my fourth grade teacher was the best one homework that we always had was excersise for 30 mins everyday. she believed that we should enjoy our childhood and we should get time off. I hate those teahers who give you homework on trips. they are always like what did you do today and im just like you should know you were there. lol. my fourth grade teacher never gave us busy work if we learned something that day then we get homework if we didn't then nothing. too much homework is no good but just a little is just perfect. :)

i believe that somehow it helps. i admit that during my high school days, i would copy my classmate's homework but not all. i do copy the idea but not the whole thing. Actually, it made me remember things. I know it's kinda irritating to do 5-7 homework every night because i have experienced that and it's really stressful. but i only give 2 to 4 hours for that then the rest of my time would be for me to have fun.

homework is effective because they dont loose in touch with their learning when at home just by playing and enjoying by forgetting books, if the person who has not heard correctly at school, at least even if he copies his mind will go through the book which is very important for children where learning power is too high

As a teacher myself,I think homework is a must for students, but it should be finished within two hours by most students on weekends.Students nowadays learn so many subjects at school.Teachers should realize that they are not doing the only homework you leave.Too much homework really doesnt help.

A certain amount of homework can help, but homework is mostly given by the teachers in order to lighten their workload.

Every coin has two sides,so does the homework make its sense. Homework exactly can practise the proficiency of what we have learned at class without question, cause as we all know, the more times we practise, the better we master these knowledge. But on the other side,i have to say that too much homework will occupy almost children's all leisure time .All waht they are doing is only what they have to do,that does not interest them at all! I think it does harm to children's personality and makes them like machines to some extent. Secondly,it also lies on the style and content of homework.I really hope to see much more interesting homework rather than just copying or test papers filled with lots of questions to answer, i want to have fun by the means of homework and that makes me make progress too!

I didn't like homework when I was still in school. I think those homework really helped me learn, but the problem was my teachers from all of my subjects just dumped homework on students whenever they felt like doing it that most of the time I didn't know how I would finish all my work. I think I used to have 8-10 subjects per quarter. I spent about 9 hours in school every day, and then upon going home I still had lots of work to do. I usually had a homework for each subject. I wanted to have a life besides school, so I ended up neglecting some of those school work. It's important to learn, but I think students should still have a balanced life. I'm not saying that I did the right thing neglecting my homework, just that teachers should at least coordinate with each other to make sure that they are not putting a very big burden on students.

Hello! I do not like homeworks, I usually do not write homeworks. I believe homeworks is not as necessary, If we study at school. Why need homeworks, If we study at school all what we need. I understand my math teacher. We do not work so good on lessons, and it is reason why we need write homeworks. But, we do not write homeworks, and usually teacher is angry. Earlier I write all homeworks in all subjects, but I can say Thank you to crisis, because due to crisis or country do not pay for homework correction. And It is good, because I have much more free time to do other important things. Like help my mother to garden, cooking, and I have time to prepare to tests. I disagree to people who said do homeworks at the same time watching TV. So we can easily make mistakes. And If people read the book while watching TV. It is still worse, because we only learn half of the all book.

I think homework is still important to give to students. It is useful to recall the knowledge we have received in school, thus we will be more mature science. Now the most important is the teacher should not give too many and hard jobs to students who can lead students to become stressful.

I totally agree, homework is a waste of time. First of all, kids don't get enough spare time to do what they enjoy anymore, and secondly, and more importantly, it doesn't give them any time to actually learn the concept. Students are too busy focusing little homework assignments, quizzes and tests that they cannot actually see the big pictures, and learn the concepts properly. This is why people forget most of what they have learned from school only years if not months after they graduate. We should be focusing on teaching students so that they can retain the knowledge, so they can remember it for the rest of their lives. For starts, we could abolish homework, assignments, quizzes, tests, and replace all of them with a single final exam in each class. If students realize they will need to learn and retain all of the information all through the year, they will. However, if they see that after they complete a unit test that they don't need it anymore, they will forget the information. I know this is a little bit off track, but I think we need a drastic change in the educational system. Schools have become a place of behavioral manipulation, rather than a place of information. We are using schools to make everyone a single conformity. We are being dumbed down, on purpose, and that is that.

A homework should be based on concepts or something we have learned in school which needs to be reinforced. I think it should be about an hour's worth of work. It should not be on something not taught before. Parents should be wise enough to manage homeworks with their kids at home. And probably a little reward when kids have done them.

maybe it depends on the student if the student think that i will make him better or to do good at school it will have a good impact for him but some student don't do homework because maybe it's boring or sometimes they think it is difficult or student will just copy at school for me there are many instances the outlook of an student at his homework

That's life of a student. In order for you to learn, you should study your homework. It is a review of research to what you have learn from school. Live a balance life. You can still play with proper management of time. You will still enjoy your childhood. Life is not all about play.

I strongly believe that home work will help some extents to the children's.But there should be some limit to do,not 3 to 4 hours.the homework should give in such a way that they should not be stressed. But its a good habit to do home work.

Me personally think they go to school 6 hrs a day to learn i dont see why they should have to give more of them time up to learn schoolwork at home although i think the kids should be able to choose if they want it or not as there is alot of kids that do actually like homework i also think that if ur child is behind in class for any reason the parent's should be able to request homework for them to help them get along. I also think some off the stuff they get for homework is a complete waste of time cause when u leave school depending on ur career move u never really need to use what u ve learned at school.
