Watching the big trucks, part 2

Well, today I was back over at mom's. After calling my sister so she could say hi to mom, we were looking out her window at the construction site. There really wasn't much going on in the view from her window. Until... A truck stated up the ramp out and then stopped. The cab of the truck was on the ramp, but the trailer behind it was actually at a fairly acute angle to the truck. The men signaled down the crane and hooked up the end of the trailer. the crane then picked up the end of the trailer and moved it so it was directly behind the cab. They unhooked the trailer, and the truck pulled out of the pit. In pulling out, the middle set of wheels were off the ground, and the end of the trailer nearly drug in the dirt, but after it was all on the ramp, then the wheels were on the ground again. I saw them do it again, with another truck about 30 minutes later from another window, but this time I could see them hooking up the trailer, but couldn't really see the crane. That window I could see what had been the place with pored concrete 3 weeks ago, its now all an in closed concrete box, so I guess that isn't going to be the pool... I got to watch all kinds of stuff. This hole is about 2 stories deep, one side they were finishing up putting boards up to keep the sides from caving in, the other side has concrete pored over there on the walls... All in all, it was pretty interesting. Didn't see the bulldozer, but the was a smaller machine with a jack hammer kind of thing attached digging a hole. I have to say, I really didn't see so much standing around as last time either... I wonder if the different colored hats and vests mean anything... If I were creating a story, they would... Do you know?

cool Yeah, there were 5 guys doing this work, one in a green hat, one in an orange, one yellow and the other 2 white... down on the ground was a guy in a reddish/brown hat Yeah, I really am interested - see, I write so I would do that if I created a "universe" with construction going on...

the white hats seemed to be doing the most common labor, the green hat didn't seem to be doing as much, and the other two, well, they were all kind of bolting the rebar down after the 2 white hat guys bent it over, and used a sledge hammer to kind of make it bend more not really doing electrical stuff yet, mostly rebar and concrete stuff (and building forms to pore concrete in...

I don't know if the different color vests and hats mean anything or not. I'm sure they do, though. I bet you could make it a very interesting story if they did mean anything. It's interesting watching a construction site, isn't it? I haven'ty watched one in a long time. It sounds like there was a lot of activity going on over there.

well, if I were to write a story, the building would just be a small element to it, not the whole story, maybe the protagonist would start out there working or might need to talk to someone who was building there, or something...
