Have you ever had any worries that giving your personal checking to these online banking / money exchanges may compromise the security of your bank account it draws from ..or other personal information?

I am not very worried about using these. If I am not worried to pay the payment or transfer the money directly from my credit card and bank account, there are no more reasons for me to worry about using Paypal, Alertpay and so on. I love China

These sites have good reputation online so no worries for me. I prefer to use Paypal and Liberty Reserve. liberty Reserve has good security but doesn't have linking capabilities for credit cards or bank account. you just got to exchange your funds from legit money exchangers recommended by Liberty Reserve themselves. It's listed in their site.

I like paypal, alert pay and others in as much it protects me from giving away bank account. To be verified, however you have to confirm your bank account and thus you lose control of that account when you give out your paypal address, somewhat.
