re-committing to eating right

I ran a 5K last night and overheated. I am really wondering if some of it was because I really didn't eat right yesterday. My time sucked and I know some of that is I have put on a few pounds. Today I am recommitting to eat right once again! To feel my best, I do better if I eat 6 small meals a day. They are not real "meals" more like 6 really large snacks. I have got to get back to eating the way that makes me feel better. Should I go cold turkey or gradually work my way back?

I think you should gradually work your way back to what works and what's comfortable for you. And what has worked for me and many would be eating small meals a day, many though. And I try not to eat before I sleep. I tend to get stomach upset with any big meal. Besides, I tend to gain weight faster and easier. When I'm heavier I become lazier. And my movements become slow and I tire easily. Stay focused and you can make it.

Yeah, I just need to really take the time to refocus! I know what works and do okay on a schedule, but when that gets all messed up is when I lose it.. gotta try again to figure out a way to make it work!

Hi friend, Nothing has ever worked for me cold turkey, except when I quitted smoking the lasttime. I had quitted several times, once even for 4 years. But now I know that I will be an addict for the rest of my life so I cant have even one tiny ciggy after a lovely diner. As for the rest (diets and the like) it helps me to est well balanced meals in smaller quantities. I have heard that smaller portions several times a day works very well. But donĀ“t stop eat (sort of): your body will get REAL MAD at you. Take care and go easy.
