With deepfreeze we can make our computer back at the initial setting. So that we can prevent damage caused by viruses. if your computer infected by virus then after you restat your windows your Operating system will return to the previous setting. And this virus will be automatically be deleted by itself

these kind of techniques are used in cyber cafes . but i dont think it would be use full with a personal computer because all your new data will be lost everytime you restart . so whats the use.

I've also been using deepfreeze, and very successful. But I became a hassle because of the loss history. So now I choose not to use deepfreeze.

Well you are right.. it's the one of the best way to prevent your system from virus.. but problem with deepfreeze is you cannot install any protection updates or system updates neither you can install any new softwares and by bad luck if your system got virus and after that you install deepfreeze,.. :O I am not against deepfreeze but I have faced above issues that's why.. Deepfreeze is good for cybers and public internet places but for I.T. industries or personal use you can't use it..

That's a good solution. Windows users should have a good anti-virus software installed, install system security patch as quickly as possible and buid a good custom to navigate on internet to reduce the possibility to be infected by virus.

logically virus is deleted in deepfreeze, but actually the virus is just sleeping one big mistake it will destroy your system even deepfreeze will be disabled.. better study the properties of virus so that you know how to remove on your computer without doing a reformat....

not so true, that might work for a cyber cafe or something that you dont want 3rd parties people been installing or damaging your computer. in personal use is pretty useless... it doesnt allows you to install software in a conformable way. also there are viruses specific to mess up that deepfreeze configuration like he "f*ckfreeze and many others" the true is that in new machines the deep freeze cause more damage and inconvenient than helps. once again i repeat, that might work to people with business machines where the configuration might need to stay static or want to try a really risky softwre. not a thing to use at home normal use

I don't think it's useful for me. I don't feel it difficult to rebuild my OS, but it's hard to remember all my settings. If deepfreeze can't remain my current setting, I prefer to format my disks and rebuild OS better.
