The rain has stopped and I am going to finally mow my lawns after 4 weeks of rain.I really enjoy this job as I find it relaxing., and I am proud of how my yard looks. What job around the house do you like to do and find relaxing ?

Oh you sound like me, I love cutting the grass and I think my husband love the fact that I do..lol I think this is because I am not a people person and so when I am cutting, obviously no one can talk to me..I also am a person who can't sit still, and having almost an acre, I can use up energy well this way.. And the smell....Oh I love the smell of fresh cut grass...:)

Interesting. I bet your husband loves that yo do a chore that he could do! That makes sense. It's almost like you're in a little bubble where you are free to think without interruptions. I like the sound of rain poudning against the roof. Everything else in the house has to be quiet though. If it's just the sound of the rain on the roof and I'm snuggled up on the couch, under a blanket or in my bed, it really relaxes me.

Oh I love the sound of rain too..and ironically that you mention the time to think part..I was accused of having too much time to think, idle minds and all..This is a good example, because I do the mowing and gardening which is a lot of work, my mind does tend to think a lot..Plus I walk the neighbors dog and that gives me time to think too..I came up with a lot of my story ideas from walking the dog..One will use in my second one if I can ever get the first one published..

I love the smell of freshly cut grass as well, I bet your hubby loves you doing the lawns. I love the satisfaction of knowing I have done a great job with my lawns, and the yard looks nice and neat, I would like to have a few acres to play with.

Hi suehan, the grass grows tremendously rapid during rainy season. I could imagine how indecent the grassy lawn would look after the four weeks of rain. I dislike to move the mowing machine for I dislike the noise made by it. Anyway I love the odor from the freshly cut grasses while my husband is moving the mower on the lawn I enjoy doing the weeding for a short while in the morning. I stop the weeds to grow on my mini vegetable garden by rooting out them almost every morning. Without these disgusting weeds my plants could then grow healthy and strong. I love the cold outdoor air in the morning. It's a great pleasure to see the lovely and newly blooming flowers as well as the baby gourds, beans, etc Happy posting

I enjoy doing the gardening, but really don,t like the weeding. Y our mini garden sounds great, I might start a vegie patch soon, when I find some spare time.

I think I would feel bored and tired as well if the weeding area is too spacious. Since mine is a mini one, therefore I still could do it relaxingly for 15 minutes or so and enjoy the fresh air at the same time

I think I will stick to a mini garden that only takes about 15 minutes to weed

I don't mind doing the gardening, will do a lot of digging, clearing brambles you name it, but I don't like doing the lawns! I hate it, unfortunately we have a big garden with four separate pieces of lawn to mow. Luckily my father will do it, he won't do gardening but he will mow the lawn, so we compromise, although he gets the easier deal as the lawns are not done as frequently as the ground needs to be dug over, although I am in control of growing the vegetables and I find that very satisfying, knowing all my veggies are totally organic and seeing them grow too. Gardening is great for stress, depression etc, just leave the mowing for someone else, hey you don't want to come over to do ours do you? PMSL!

I've honestly never had to mow the grass. Growing up my dad was pretty picky about what our yard looked like, so he preferred to just mow it himself. Now that I'm married and out of the house my husband and I have lived in apartments so the grass is always taken care of by the landlord. SOMEDAY we will have a house and a lawn mower and I will finally mow my first lawn. My husband had to mow his lawn when he was younger though and he has always told me that he finds it to be a relaxing job - so you're not the only one!

Yes it is relaxing , but I think its something about the accomplishment of doing a good job and it looks nice and you kind of proud of how nice your house looks
