Are you a wise buyer or an impulsive buyer?

I used to be an impulsive buyer. Haha... Those where the days... Now that I value the money I'm earning I can proudly say that I'm already a wise buyer. Sometimes, I get tempted though to think of things to buy just because I want them or a friend have them but after awhile I will realize I really don't need them. So, before buying things you want, wait for at least 2 weeks or so and decide if you still want to buy. ;)

when young I'm totally an impulsive buyer. It's really awesome especially after getting the salary. I would spend majority of my wage buying all those fashion stuffs which are fascinating that most girls keen to seize of. Nowadays I'm getting older and no longer looking for such fashionable stuffs anymore. I tend to have stuffs which is practical in use. I like to put on clothes and shoes, etc which could make me feeling comfortable and relaxed when putting on them. Moreover it's frugal as well not to waste money on stuffs which I rarely use. And it's wise to get same stuffs with lower price on weekends as well Happy posting!

It's true that almost every young woman I know like buying the similar stuffs mentioned above My friends did crazy getting the SK 2 products with offered price in the Japan New Chitose Airport outlet before the departure for our country They believed deeply after applying the moisturizing cream they would have tender and soft complexion without any flaw at all. To them it's was worth to purchase the product though it's rather expensive. Take care

Hi. Thanks for sharing. When I was young I like buying a lot of beauty products like lip gloss, perfume, lotion and the likes. When I look at them it's like owning a store already, haha... Now that I'm more mature, haha... I only buy what I need and not just because I want it. Happy posting!

When I was in shopping mall searching for goods,I was an impulsive buyer since things I wanted to buy were so irresistable. However, after paying for the money I promised to myself that I would be a wise buyer next time. But a few weeks later,I was here hoping to buy something again.I just cannot remember what I promised.

I am probably guilty of being a little of both in this category. I try my best to be the wise buyer. Often i can follow through. then a moment of weakness comes. Impulse buying is just around the corner for me then. Whatever shall I do?

You know it's hard to earn money nowadays and everything seems expensive. So, we all should be wise where we put our money. Buying things we don't really need is just a waste. Just look around your stuffs, do you use all the items you bought or are they just sitting around collecting dust? Put a good use in your money. Maybe you can put them in savings, time deposit, mutual fund, stocks or save up for a vacation! :)

Hi santos mariachis: I think I am not totally a wise buyer nor an impulsive one. I'm a wise buyer because I usually think before buy something. I consider if I really need the things I want to buy but at the same time I'm a litle bit impulsive and I know I should look carefully for the items I want to buy before deciding but it's a litle bit hard to me. That's the reason why I usually buy things with my brother or with a friend to ask for an advice about the prices and everything. Thanks for asking us this question. Have a nice day. ALVARO.

Hi Alvaro! I think that's a nice idea to have your brother or friend before buying something. I have a friend who is very thrifty and whenever I ask her to go with me to the mall, I always end up buying nothing. Haha.. Which is good because sometimes we just go to the mall for a movie and snacks and you end up buying something you don't really need. Thanks for sharing! :)

I'm a wise buyer now. I make sure I really want and need all the things that I buy. I experienced having a hard time budgeting my money when I bought something that I really don't need but I really wanted that time. But the "want" only lasted for a week so it became useless in the end. Its like throwing away my hard earned money.

I got you. We have the same experience. I think it's a waste. That's why now I've learned not to be excited in buying things I want, because in the end it might just be another waste. It's really hard to earn money that is why we should weigh items we really need compared to those we just want. Thanks for sharing! :)

I am a wise buyer. I generally don't buy anything just like that. I am very choosy. I wait for sales time to purchase toys or household items. I never buy clothes during that time. Except for demins or jeans I don't buy anything else.

Hi durgabala: Well that's excellent and a wise decitions. Sometimes when you want to buy something because it's new you'll find some weeks later that you could have it for a better price. We should control ourselves because consumism is not a good advicer. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day. ALVARO.

santosmarichris, I would not call myself a wise buyer but a calculative and slow buyer. So, I am not a compulsive buyer as I am just literally slow.

Being a calculative and slow buyer is better than an impulse buyer. :) haha... I consider that to be a wise buyer too. It's good when you research before buying that way you will know where you can buy items with lower price tag. Thanks for sharing!

I guess I learned to be a wise buyer when I started to work. When I was younger, I would just tell my mom that I wanted something or whatever. But when I got to handle my own money, I learned that I should spend it wisely. So before buying I'd compare prices on similar products. Sometimes I'd spend a week just thinking whether I should buy something or not. But usually when it comes to food, I'm pretty impulsive. Hahaha!

Hi there! You know it's really good to think before buying any product that way we can avoid impulse buying. Also, let's also look into buying whenever there's a sale. Sometimes we really don't need the item but because it's on sale, we go dive in and buy it. Even those buy one take one deals can sometimes be tempting. We should always be wise! Thanks for sharing. :)

hi santosmarichris, No one i think is 100% wise or impulse buyer. We all have shades of both in us and it just depends upon who controls his impluses better. I am quite frugal when it comes to spending money and would always check if i really need to buy this or not and i usually carry a list of things when i go to Big Bazzar or other super markets and usually donot deviate from the list but then a bargain here or there like if i find they are selling Maggi Ketchep with scheme of buy one get one free i do buy that.. Sometimes i just buy things which i really dont need nor i would ever need,, because i liked the look of it..but now it is rare. One thing i have done is i dont carry my credit cards or debit cards to market. So it limits my impulsive buying a lot.

I'm a wise buyer. I only buy things that are really needed at a particular time. Not having a job I can't afford to buy on impulse. However, I have always been like that even with a job. As I have gotten older I have realized that you really don't need alot to survive on this earth. I'm not a materialitic person that needs the latest gadgets or the newest fashion. That is just not me. If I really need something important before buying I check all the stores for the cheapest price and I will look crazy on-line for a coupon for the item on top of it.

You know, I'm just like you when buying I also check out the stores for the cheapest price. I feel happy whenever I get a discount or bought something on a lower price, compared to other stores. I think it's worth searching around before spending your money. Thanks for sharing! :)

I think I can be classified as a wise buyer. I conside much before deciding to buy something, and make a detailed research before buying it. I never buy anything which I don't really need or can't afford it. I always try to make maximum value of my money, earning is really difficult!

It's true, earning is very difficult. When you value your hard work, you seem to value your earnings too. Sometimes small things you buy here and there really add up. So, we need to be a wise buyer all the time. Thanks for sharing! ;)

I also used to be an impulsive buyer though I find that now I am definitly more of a wise buyer. However, I do go through impulsive times especially during sales (even though I try to avoid them!) or after I've just got some money and I feel like I havent bought anything in years though it was more like two weeks ago lol. I do tend to find when it comes to wise buying I'm not completely wise and although I do look round and search for the cheapest price I dont spend ages doing lots of price comparisions etc

Sales are more often than not, very alluring. It's like they are calling you... lol. Don't be tempted unless you really need that item otherwise it's just going to be in your drawer, just sitting there... Happy Mylotting!

I think i have always been a wise buyer. Before i buy anything, i checked different stores first about the prices. Also, i think not only twice if i really need to buy something. I have to answer YES to 3 questions before i decided to buy something. 1) Do i need it? 2) Can I afford it? and 3)Do i really want it?

That's why i am impulsive buyer. But very rare i am also a wise buyer as some time i can not stop my self to buy something.
