For me, it would the first time I saw after he and my mom had their divorce. at the airport, we just hugged each other and cried. no words could exactly express how we truly feel. that simple hug, made me feel secure.

I can say we have the same unforgettable moment with our dad :) But for me it goes like this, My dad use to work in Japan (I'm from the Philippines) and he stays there for 20 years. Then last April he decided to finally go home after that long time. So together with my grandfather, we pick him up at the airport. Because its my first time to see him in person, I just based how he will look to the pictures he sent us before. Then I saw a man that looks like that he was a Japanese, but together with my grandfather we get close to the man because I feel that he was my dad and I'm confident that he will recognize my grandfather. He just stare at us, so we just walk away because my grandfather thought that he was not my dad, he was just a japanese man and if ever we ask him he might not understand us. However, I still look and follow with my eyes the man 'coz I really feel that he was my dad. After a while we someone is already calling my cellphone and it was my dad. And the man that just stare to us is my dad! We hugged each other and he started to cry and even my grandfather share a tear also. For the first time in my life I finally meet the man that I was just talking over the phone for 20 years :)

awww..such sweet story..your gut feel was right..your instinct did not mislead you from knowing that he was your dad the first time you saw that man..at least you still have more time to catch up on those 20 years that he was away.

For me it would have to be before my parents divorce. We grew up in a christian home so my parents never really showed when they were fighting or having problems. I was about 17 when I knew something was very wrong because we slowly stopped going to church and I would hear my parents argue in their room and noticed a lot of other things. Well my dad has always been the tough kind of guy never cried ever in front of anyone, was always happy. So they sat us down one day and told us they were having problems it wasn't our faults, and so on, but they would be separating for awhile. So at that moment we all circled together and prayed. My dad prayed and in the middle of the prayer he fell to his knees and began to sob uncontrollably. At that moment, man, I felt such compassion and love for my dad and since that day have always felt a different closeness to him. We spoke after the prayer because my mom actually left for awhile to stay with a friend and I was "the woman" of the house I guess you could say since I had a younger brother and sister and I had to take on the motherly duties of cleaning and cooking. So I bonded with my dad around that time, but that was one of the most unforgettable moments, to see my dad cry and feel his pain but know it was okay because he was only human but it was okay to still cry and stand up again and go forward.

For me my most unforgettable experience with my dad is when he got home from saudi arabia my dad is an OFW... every time he goes home I always cry because of happiness and i really care for him and miss him so much, we don't see each other along and I want to spend the rest of my time to him.. and my most unforgettable experience when he got home is that we all together go to the beach, swimming like a dolphin and eating our favorite foods, and hang on each other ....

Hmmm. I have two unforgettable moments with my dad... When he cried in front of me because I was extremely angry and I won't let him touch me. I said something that made his tears flow. The other one was when I help him clear our backyard. My siblings aren't into boy's work. Not even my younger brother. It was just the two of us and it was fun...:D
