i turned the tv on. i was supposed to watch eat bulaga but i switched it on Qtv11. i saw the show which the topic is "imbestigador, pinoy tapat ka ba?". the show was hosted by mariz umali and mr. imbestigador, mike enriquez. i wasn't able to watch the beginneing but i feel good watching it. i got goose bumps watching it. some foreighners think bad about filipinos. that filipinos are corrupt and bad and that it is worsen by the impression that our corrupt leaders give. in contrary of that, the show showed that filipinos are honest and good. featured filipino's honesty in time of poverty. the group of imbestigador made an experiment. they had an asset that dropped her wallet in different places to see if the people around will give the wallet back to her. the result was very positive cause many people gave the wallet back. they also featured batanes which has the most honest people in the philippines. batanes even has a store without anyone watching it. the people purchasing in the stores just put their payment in a box. whoever has change just write a note there the amount he paid and the amount of change. the next day, they can get the change in the store. they trust each other there. the owner is happy cause when she checks the money in the store, they are complete. their governor is also known to be honest. he once found a bag of money in an airport manila and he immediately coordinated with the security of that place to find the owner. i hope the whole philippines will be like batanes and all our leaders will be honest too.

YEs amazing to hear honesty in that level. In my county honesty is not high or medium, but more to case to case.A normal person will lie thro his/her teeth to escape fine or trouble.THere is no much honor in that, i guess ,daily politic and high end politician lying thro thier teeth, defending cronies, eye wide shut in crimes and bribery and such, has cause the citizen why not let follow them.

yes, that happens during election too here. as the people they are serving, we should watch for their actions and also guide them on how to help us and fulfill their promises.

Honesty is the best policy, so the saying goes. It is good that some television programs do air positive deeds of our fellow Filipinos. In this way, we get to erase in other nation's mindset that Filipinos are not at all bad.

I saw it too yesterday. The experiment was interesting. Indeed a majority of the Filipinos are honest. My mother was saying that the note inside helped, but I think the people were naturally honest because their natural instinct was to look for the owner. Some people were even willing to spend text money to tell the owner that her wallet has been found.

yes, i don't think that the finders of the wallet read the note. they searched for the contact information of the asset first but i don't think they read the notes. maybe it is also as a respect for the privacy of the owner of the wallet.

yes they are very honest there in batanes..and do you know that filipinos before are really honest? if you'll check the history of the filipinos in exchanging goods with the nearby countries it's just like in batanes..they just left their goods and the other will leave a n exact amount of payment for the goods they bought and vice versa..they trust each other back then so why can't we do it now right?

i think we should study our values that are taught by our ancestors to restore the lost values of the filipinos today. if we can do that, we can change our society and bring back the happy and free filipinos.

I believe any race or just about anybody can be really honest if they just want to. The problem is most of the times people get corrupted with lots of bad stuff and then in the process they dont know how to be honest anymore. May it be a filipino, american ,british, japanese or even koreans. We are all capable of being honest its just that the action of some most of the times taint the action of many. What foreigners hear bout the news bout filipinos then they automatically think all filipinos are bad and not worth trusting but they are wrong. Most of us are really trustworthy its just that we need some chance to prove this honesty of ours to them sometime. And from time to time we do see lots of people returning lost items or even money to the owner that just symbolises how honest we can be

yes. we must all prove that we are good and that the bad things done by a person shouldn't be taken negatively to the whole race. it is still the individual who choose to do what is bad and what is right.

Hi, Honesty is mostly associated with individual. Also, we cannot expect from every one and it is associated with many other facts. If a person has a will to be honesty, then he will be truthful to it. Few examples you said, like giving back the valet. It depends on the situation. I am not telling all Filipinos are corrupt. (I have not know any body personally and I just heard of your country and people and have no experience). In case of honesty, all people are like that only. Which ever the country they are belongs, doesn't matter. If he/she is a good person and having rich values, they we be good in nature and those who are not, we cannot expect from any thing good from them. This law is applicable to all people, not only Philipinos. Within 6 months time, I got a mobile phone from road side, few certificates and documents from a train. With so much of follow ups, I could give back the same to the owner and I could experience how happy they were. In both these cases, I could have easily keep the mobile and documents with me for no reason. But I found some pleasure to trace the person and give it back. Nearly a year back I got a bunch of answer papers (valued by some professor for some exams) which I got from train and replaced with a packet of mine with some textiles. I made full one week trace to get the owner of the papers, an old address on the note book helped me to give it back. So, if people have a mind like that, we can do that. But the time has changed and all are become greedy. If you get anything worthy, people will keep with them even if you can return. Time has changed, it is no ones mistake. We should realise and act accordingly. Thank-s

yes, i agree that everyone is capable of being honest. i am just happy with the show that i saw because the poverty here in the philippines makes some people to steal and do illegal things but the experiment done by the shows that there are still many good people on earth.

wow. This is very heart warming. What's the time-slot of this show? I want to watch it sometime. It's really good to know that there are still a lot of honest people here in our country. I'm also glad that I am one of them :) I wish a lot more Filipinos would be honest, good, and better citizens. God bless our country
